VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
They are really handsome in this photos!! all!!! :inlove:
but the hyde's hair is long, these photos are old, I think ;)

Those are pretty cool pictures, but they need more of the girl in the red dress, hehe.

Also, I always noticed that there were so many westerners in their videos as well, and your explanation for that, nanagon, makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

One big reason, it's difficult to gather a lot of Japanese who can promise to keep secret, if you are living in UK, and show up in U2's video, you know, everybody will ask you what they were, how that was, there are so many huge fans around you, so naturally, you gonna make some kind of rumor or something about them. They just hate it.
(So you can see, if it's supposed to be taken separeted movie and use CG to mix the movie, like "killing me" (the japanese were taken different movie from member's and used CG to make them into one movie) you can see japanese actors in it.
And second reason, it's also hard to take outside movie in Japan because again, a lot of fans are waiting for them all over in Japan. so nomally, if they want take a shot outside, they gonna go to oversea.
and the last reason is maybe, Westerner looks more variety than Japanese. As you know Japanese are look almost the same everyone.
And they use English often to make a variety too.
Sometimes, it's better not understand 100 percent because you'll be tired soon.

Wow I`ve been wondering about that for a while too. Interesting.

Sorry I`ve been not as active recently; school just started. Ugh it`s so tiring. But I`ll still listen to L'Arc while doing homework~! :dancing:

I didn't like Link's pv. There were many western people in him and it seemed to me to be ugly. I don't know exactly why I didn't like it but this is my opinion. I would prefer seeing Asian people there. Anyway in other videos they are with western people and I could stand it, I suppose that Link's video looks like a promotional video of a western band and for this reason didn't like me

Thank you so much Meiko, as good report from japanese fans, it's so beautiful...
I heard they had some short hair hyde too..

You're welcome ;) I didn't give other pics but somebody yes...thought

I forgot to say thanks to pochi for Shangai's videos, thank you!

Yep, I found LINK's PV not as great as the song. I mean, that song could've a better video. I think it has to be with the people... doing a choreography... and dancing (and whatz with the clapping?!!)... Didn't look as LARUKU style. Maybe it has to be with LINK being a "happy" song. Anyway the dog was cute (and of course the 4 of 'em were PERFECT)!

Oh, thx Meiko and nanagon (pics and translation). And thank you SYOTA#4, for the REALPLAYER.

U're absolutely right. It should've been OK to see ppl dancing in music video,.... but in Laruku's??!!! Oh pleeezzz... U gotta be kidding me, it looked freakin' awkward! Well...I actually love the song, and the video (except the dancing part). And it was good 2 c all all the band members seem to have so much fun. But why does the video remind me of "That 70s show"set? Anyone...???

I donno but hyde has strange hair style that also was populer in 70's.
I think "old pop" or something was the theme of that movie.
And like as usuall, they like to make people surprised.
I'm not westernar then I can't understand what you are saying though. hahaha
it's not so big deal.
(But I think if they used all the model people, it'd be also kinda wired)

but do you think it's really okey about L'arc member in that movie? I mean... to think about their age.... They look young though.. hahaha

ya know, the way they look makes me wonder of how Im gonna age eventually. Because they dont seem to age at all, except for tetsu who begins to develop eye bags  yet he still manages to look as great as ever!! I wish they'd share their secrets. Hyde's hairstyle is called Mohawk. It's quite popular among punkers, but in j-rock? I dunno. But I love to see how they always sported fresh new style. Well that's the good thing if u have ur own personal stylist.

Wow...hope no one gets offended w/ that statement

"....it is true that they have a big supporter in America, but there is different reason why they use Westerners in video....."

...seems they "little bit" unconfidence w/ using westeners in video. for me looks silly. cause the westeners look artificial. appearance the westeners "only" to show that they care about their fan outside japan. look push on it. i think their music and song is fantastic. they dont have to do "the westeners" thing in their video. i hope their next video no westeners anymore. :naughty:

L'Arc~en~Ciel's Lead Vocalist Descends on Shanghai for 3 Hours

Although already at an age of 36, the hyde in front of us, wearing a black jacket and a t-shirt with a skull infront, does not look like he has changed much since his debut in 1991.

The L'Arc~en~Ciel (Ê“ø means "rainbow" in Chinese) fans gathered at the Shanghai Youth Theatre (ãŠC”N宫剧场) yesterday were lucky indeed. Less than 30 metres away from them was the person they have been silently thinking of in their hearts everyday - "cute piggy" (‰Â爱’–) hyde ("pig" is a term of endearment used by the Chinese fans), intently listening to and answering every single question from the fans. His declaration of love for Peking Roast Duck and Ma Po Beancurd (both Chinese delicacies) and a sudden "I love you" in Chinese, sent the fans into a state of delirium.

Cute: Few words, but like a child, licks his fingers.

Yesterday, in order to have a close session with the Chinese media and fans before their 10/09 concert in Shanghai, the lead vocalist of L'Arc~en~Ciel, who have just ended their performance in Korea, came alone to Shanghai to meet everyone. hyde is well-known for being a man of few words when accepting interviews but for some reason - maybe because of the fans and media being at the same place, yesterday's hyde was in a great mood, occassionally playing with the audience below.

As soon as hyde reached the place, he told the Chinese fans, most of whom have been waiting for him for as long as 7 years, that everyone was "kawaii~". As the interview started, hyde looked lost when the questions were asked in Chinese. Occassionally, and perhaps subconsciously, hyde licked his fingers like a kid, drawing cries of "kawaii~" from the fans below. hyde's response was to smile back foolishly. But once the Japanese translation (of the questions) came through, hyde became like a student taking exams and answered them seriously. When asked about the recently concluded live in Korea, hyde's response was that it was a success and that he felt deeply touched by the Korean fans with whom there exists a language barrier. hyde used to think that holding concerts in countries outside Japan was difficult because the language barrier made it hard to get into the right atmosphere (between the band and fans). But having done a few of such concerts, he felt the fan's passion. During last year's live in US, fans that did not know Japanese even sang along with the band in Japanese. hyde's conclusion to this experience was that "Music is not affected by language barriers".

Greedy: Loves "Peking Roast Duck and Ma Po Beancurd"

Regarding 10/09's Shanghai live, hyde, as usual, remained tight-lipped about the concert. Whether it is the program for the concert or their activities in Shanghai, hyde passed them with a smile. Responding to a question from the fans about whether the band will change roles during the performance, hyde answered perkily in Chinese "A secret!". hyde said that the band members have seen on websites, suggestions and requests from the fans regarding the set list, and expressed their commitment to consider them and to make this concert a great success.

Referred to as a "pig" endearingly by Chinese fans, hyde has a great passion for food. When a reporter asked what Chinese dish he liked to eat, hyde thought for a while before saying "Peking Roast Duck", before adding in Chinese "Ma Po Beancurd". Lastly, as if it weren't enough, he added a "I love you" loudly. Out of a sudden, the fans in the theatre became very excited, probably feeling they are so lucky. When asked about what he would like to do in his free time, he answered, without hesitation, "eating and sleeping". He even used Chinese to tell everyone he loved fried rice. Not lacking of singing skills, hyde, when overhearing a reporter praising him for having a perfect pitch, opened his eyes widely and responded in a high-pitched, child-like manner "Is it like that?". After that, he even honestly told the fans "I smoke and drink. But when I am on the stage, I will sing with my heart and not let you down".

I don't like this report a single bit. :usuck:

***

With 14 years of history, popular Japanese rock band - L'Arc~en~Ciel, will perform for the first time in Shanghai, China, on the 10th of this month. Yesterday afternoon, as the lead vocalist of the band and one of the rock icons in Japan, hyde appeared in Shanghai's meet-the-fans session.

As one of Asia's most influential VISUAL ROCK bands (OMG! tetsu will get a heart attack if he read this!), punk-ish outfits, GOTHIC make-up, and lead vocalist hyde's penetrating voice has always been L'Arc~en~Ciel's formula for dominating the music scene. Although immensely popular in Japan, like many other foreign big names, L'Arc~en~Ciel did not enter the Chinese market at the peak of their career. Only 14 years after their formation have they finally arrived in China for their very first concert.

Initially thinking that Chinese fans will not get feverish about big names that are past their peak, it was unexpected that even though the fan session was on a busy working day like Monday, there was not an empty seat in the place. Many of the fans, alot of them following L'Arc~en~Ciel for more than 10 years, had taken "medical leave" in order to come. Having done one of the opening tracks for the Full Metal Alchemist TV series last summer, hyde had instantly become an idol among teenage anime fans. And their reactions to seeing hyde were much more agitated than the "older" fans. When hyde said "Thank you! I love you!", the whole place erupted, with many fans hugging each other in tears.

In addition to interacting with the fans, hyde obviously did not forget to direct attention to the upcoming live in a few days. However, now that the members, including hyde, have settled down - married and had kids (huh!?! ), L'Arc~en~Ciel is no longer that brilliant and sparkling outfit of the past. Then, what kind of performance will this "old brand name" use to attract the audience's interest? Let us look forward to this performance!
