he's got everything in there, a frig, wash/dryer, many gallons of water, probably a microwave, bathroom, never have to leave the place....and if a big storm hit there, he would be set, got everything there. It's like a home within a home... :hehe:

I might move into the Attic because I would have more floor space.

yeah, cut back here, and there, it will save you, then you can splurge in other areas, like that japan trip you wanted to take, or whatever you wanted to get.

Should this wine be in the fridge? or is it only Merlot that should not be in the fridge?

The one on the far left is the one that my cousin got in france, i'm still curious how would you drill a hole in the cork without dropping some cork in the wine?

Red wines are not usually chilled or refrigerated. The Beaujolais from France is a red wine. They are served at room temperature. It is best to store the red wines in a wine rack in a cool dry place. White wines are usually chilled before you serve them. Whites I don't drink so I really can't tell you how to store them. Your best bet is to ask the people who work in the liquor stores.

you can leave the whites with the reds, keeping it in the same cool place wont be bad for it. Just chill in the fridge for a while (at least an hour), i leave one or two in the fridge, just in case.

i'd also suggest leaving them in a dark (or UV protected) place to preserve flavor, green bottles are most vulnerable. Idont remember why, but Heinekine, rolling rock and other such beers loose flavor the fastest.

haha so thats why my cousin went after my autns grand kid lol or whoever put the merlot in the fridge, he was like "Oh noooo!"

This is my mom's own bottle she has which I can have for my birthday [image]

For the year 2000 I had some nasty wine, I think it was chardonnay as well, it was very bland and bitter... but I have a feeling it was over ripe as it used to be my aunts before she passed I have no clue how long it was sitting.

Also that, speaking of the years on the bottles, I take it each year brings a new taste or flavour?

afaik, it matures up to a point, then beings to turn down to vinegar.

my Ports take about 15-25 years to full mature. store bought higher end bottles could probably use another year.

So i'm still good as far as drinking it right?
30 Sep 2005, 10:39 #593
yeah, you should be in fine, i'd let it it for about 10 minutes, just in case.

The only wine I care to drink is Chardonnay. (I don't even know if I spelled it right)

And the worst part is that they all taste the same to me, so any will do. :beaten:

I don't know that much except I know which red wines I enjoy and how to store them in my wine rack in my basement. That is it! When I go to the liquor store I ask lots of questions about foreign red wines. I have tried red wines from Australia, Argentina, Chile, Italy, France, Spain and South Africa. Do I remember the difference? Hell No! I write down the names of the ones I liked the best. Actually CA and NY produce some pretty good red wines. Hopefully I will get to a vineyard further out East on LI this year. We are known for our Merlots on Long Island. I just learned that fact this year. :bonk: :hehe:
