actually, it was probably a 7-11, buddy had a 5 hour lay over in jp, so he and his coworkers took a taxi to a proper sushi bar and had dinner. they bought a bunch of beer to drink and gave me a few of the leftovers.

i don't doubt ya.....i dunno like i said a billion times...they used to have Yebisu here in the states but then stopped exporting it to the states and eventually "brought it back" and switched to calling it Sapporo Reserve which is also manufactured in Canada along with the other Sapporo beer made for N. American consumption....the Japanese version is so much better.
especially when you're sitting at an izakaya along the window forty floors up taking a blurry picture of the Tokyo @ night. :say_yes:
something i hope to do someday.

ganmo wrote:haha...man, if you ever want things like that just ask....things like that are bountiful here with all the japanese markets around.
LOL...I could ask my mum but I don't want her to spend money on us. She did sent us some Barley-cha. it has a funny smell but it's actually quite nice...
i, too, prefer sencha or matcha....the barley tea is roasted and has a more earthy flavor....they say it's good to quench thirst on a hot day...but i imagine you don't have many of those in the Scottish Highlands....at least that's what Nessie told me last time I went to go feed her when i went to loch ness

Actually, the Chinese markets sell Japanese tea...
Anyway, one last thought since we're straying off topic here...
How much Whiskey did you drink? See...the Nessie you were speaking to and throwing bits of food at was actually little plastic floating toy...
Ja...ne... :victory:
i drink very little whiskey...i haven't had any in months...only when i go drinking with the boys which hasn't happened in a loooong time actually.
i usually stick to beer...but i've been abstaining from even that lately.
i love my plastic toys...my nessie even talks to me....at least when i put in fresh batteries...and float her around the loch with my remote control.

Ah...so...ka? I can't handle liquor very well. I had 2 glasses of pina colada-flavoured wine (I think that's what it was) just before New Years 2006 and ended up greeting the New Years in the loo and celebrating the day with a massive hang-over. I won't be doing that this coming 2007, that's for sure. :hehe:

so you don't bathe in Laphroaig's like the rest of your neighbors? I thought everybody got drunk off singe malt whiskey and then took a skinny dip to go look for Nessie.

Eh? You know, the Scots men here do treasure their "takara-mono"...enough to know better than to go for a swim in the bitter cold winter looking for a plastic floating toy. Their wee-gems would fall off in the freezing cold waters here...
My husband works for a liquor factory and every Christmas he gets his allotment of free booze. Last night, he brought home 3 cases each of wine, whiskey and vodka (the expensive stuff...). Some of these, he gives as gifts to other friends and family...and some he keeps for himself. Only in Scotland, I guess. :victory:
