I don't like bring up my personal info with students. The last thing I need is parents calling me telling me I'm influencing their children down the wrong path.

So, a customer calls in and her problem is she can connect to the internet fine on her computer but her husband can't connect on his. I asked what kind of computer he has and she replied, "He's got a Dell. I've got a Mac. I'm the smart one." :say_ouch:

I can only imagine how much snarkier Mac owners have become from those Mac vs. PC ads. :shakehead:

Wish it had been that simple. We had to do some configuring on his pc to pickup their wireless router. [/list:u]

No worries... Macbook user here.

The ads were funny, but got stale after a while. John Hodgman can probably kick that guy's ass anyways.

Well, I'll know who to call then when the sis gets a new comp with wireless. ;)

Our office manager told me that the Queen has her taking care of the Queen's personal bills (electricity, gas, water, etc.) on company time....

I told our office manager that the Queen was crossing the line and was taking advantage of her good nature... :shakehead:

Shit, that pisses me off to no end. :grumble: :grumble: :grumble: :grumble: :grumble:

The Queen shouldn't be a people manager! :shakehead:
Poor girl - is there a way to escalate this?

I am a college student and it seems like I am almost like having a job. Well, everybody knows that school works are pretty hard. You have to be awake, burning the midnight oil and do what your annoying professor assigned to you. IT SUCKS! But what I always think is, spending 3 more years in college will be over soon. Haha. I know I can do it, yet, DOING ASSIGNMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS STILL PISSED ME OF!!!! :metaldevil:  :usuck:

They apparently don't know how to use the Search Engine. :beaten:

O.K. this was a good one. Last Friday was payday. In another dept. in the same building I work in, they gave the paychecks to the staff associate (secretary) for the manager on Thursday nite because the manager wouldn't be here on Friday. Turns out the staff associate took Friday off as well and NOBODY could find the paychecks. When she came in today, they asked here where they were and she said, 'Right under my keyboard." A few people were more than a little pissed off.

 which is understandable, most people - surprise surprise - actually depend on their income, because have loans and rent to pay ...

I attended my first Retirement party today. Mr. S retired after 36 years teaching. :applaud: He taught me Grade 10 History and lead me and our staff as the branch rep.

It was quite a nice party, but I'm sure I was the youngest person there. Awkward. Especially when one teacher, in his speech, mentioned that I wasn't even born when Mr. S passed his 10 year mark in the profession.

I told the office manager that she's needs to draw the line... If she allows it to happen, then she has no business complaining about it.

It's totally inappropriate and unprofessional.... And shows what a freaking hypocrite the Queen is. :grumble:
