You didn't miss anything. You either had to be a kid at the right time (see Wyn-chan ;) ) or have kids at the right time.... I guess you were lucky :)

Sounds like I was. Anyway, I had a customer today and his last name was Archibong. For some reason, I had to fight the urge to ask him if he was Australian. [/list:u]

There's a country town in Australia called Woodenbong. I wonder what type of people live there? :hehe:

WHATEVER! My lil' guy is in preschool right now. :smitten: He's way too cute.

If he finds himself a mate when he grows older, and has an egg, I'll name it after Musa.

Tamagotchi seems so long ago to me, but more importantly it reminds me of the first episode of Nodame Cantabile. A Tamagotchi happens to be involved when Viera-sensei and Chiaki first meet. :victory:

On topic, well, I'll just say some of my co-workers just frustrate me with their lack of common sense and effort sometimes :grumble:

O.K. Sensei, but if the kid turns out like Jun Matsumoto, I'm holding you responsible. [/list:u]

What are coworkers for? :beaten:

I think every company has them... We've got a couple of senior guys (12+ years) who do the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM amount of work here: they never work outside of their box, never make suggestions or ideas on improving things, or help other people... The epitome of mindless drones.

We just had a visit from another Japanese supplier. His name is Toshi, I had to stop myself from calling him Toshi-kun :) He brought some omiyage with him, a packet of individually wrapped, what looked like slices of tree branch but were actually some kind of biscuit, and a packet of green candies. Oishii! I was chatting to him about corresponding in Japanese (mostly in English, my Japanese temporarily deserted me) while my boss was on the phone, and I said to him I would like to visit him one day. My boss heard this and looked at me and asked "Really?"

So, another seed was planted today...

Ack, I installed a capacitor backwards on a circuit board and toasted it.

We're having flood issues here and they still won't send us home. Schools are flooding, roofs/small offices are collapsing, water mains are breaking, and the river (which is less than a mile away from us by the way ) is on the verge of overflowing. So why are we still at work? For s*** sakes :grumble:

@ shoujo22: So sorry to hear about your flooding! Are they keeping you at work because it might be more dangerous to drive to your homes? Or just plain foolishness?

I'd have to go with the foolishness option. It hasn't gotten too bad over here yet, but a lot of people are concerned about the river. The rain stopped for about an hour, but then more storms moved in from Texas so....if the river does overflow, we're pretty much screwed .

What's even worse is that they're closing a lot (perhaps all) of the branches, so I don't understand why we're still open. Well, they're pretty good at evacuating people. We had a bomb threat last week and they got us out of here pretty quickly. Maybe I should have more faith in them. But still...:shakehead:

I feel for your shoujo22. It is a terrible feeling to know that other people are in charge of the safety of your lives. I sincerely hope they make the best decision for all involved. You will stay in my positive thoughts and prayers. :victory:

Yordi had a baby girl! I swear tho, I was shocked because I thought Yordi was gay.

Pic: http://www.freewebs.com/tamacraze101/tamagotchiv45.htm He's the "celebtchi" type. As you can see... very feminine.

I named the girl "Musa" as per promise. She was born in my period 2 Photography class.

Right now she is the urayoungmarotchi type.

LOL! No way! Yordi was better looking... with better hair. :P

I hate to do this but I will have to tell my senior editor to back off  - very proactive, she tends to go ahead without my approval. Unfortuantely since she's very artistic, she has no organisational skills whatsoever and mixes up things regularly. I know that she would like to join my team but she lacks the skills to be strategic marketeer. I hate to do this ...

On a more positive note, I take tomorrow off to spend a long weekend in London. :woot:

But no Wyn-chan! ItLs a compliment! I have no talent whatsoever so my job is to plan and to kick the creativeLs butt from time to time. :puppydog:

But ILd rather be the next Warhol, Lagerfeld or Callas :shamefulcry: or at least the future wife of Nagase Tomoya.
