Talk About Work Thread

This week is whack. We had Monday off and the students get Thursday off because of the Literacy Test. I don't think I've had one solid week of consistent days with my students. Bites.

Just found out that one of the higher-ups in the company is leaving (after 19 years). This could help in my quest to get to Japan and be paid to go :)

Well, the guy who's leaving did a few overseas trips, since the two owners are trying to go overseas less (crazy, I know). And i've just stepped up the ladder one rung in seniority :)

Ohhhhhhh i see! So since he's leaving, the trips he would take are now open for grabs since the other two don't travel. That's grand news. Where is the guy going? Retiring?

Well, they travel less. I'm still hoping, though.

And the other guy is starting his own business, he's younger than me :)

I worked really REALLY hard this week, getting all my marking down so I can narrow down the "At Risk" kids and write Letters of Concern home. :banghead:

Now I'm too worn to write those letters.

Thank god, our website will be launched this weekend. Will be working this Sunday but it's the last time.

Working at a coffee shop is really not quiet or relaxing like they seem on TV. It is very loud with all the grinders and blenders and shit, dirty from the coffee grinds, and stressful. Our tips today were very sucky.

I'm just about to move another step up the seniority ladder - i've just found out that another guy (interstate branch manager) is about to quit. Once he goes, there will only be 2 employees with longer service than me :bonk:

ARGH! I hate my Yearbook kids SO MUCH right now. We're two weeks over our deadline and I'm STILL missing files. :banghead:

No, I'm the Yearbook Boss. >_<

I think it would have been easier if I didn't have such a tight schedule. Aside from the regular teaching schedule, I also Head the following:

Monday: Yearbook
Tuesday: Anime Club
Wednesday: PhotoClub
Thursday: Yearbook again
Friday: Spread the Word

Which means I don't ever get to come home before 5:00pm, even tho I don't get paid after 3:05pm. :pout:

No room for JDorama club ;)
