I probably could have gone... but I managed to get in a sleep-in til 9am, a J-movie, a few hours of FFX on the PS2, and an episode of Konoshin... and it's only just gone 3PM :D

My company decided on severe cost cutting because subprime crisis. Not because we are affected by it, but as a sign to the market.
All major projects are cancelled and some teams had to hand in cost-saving ideas. My team suggested that the board members when coming to Brussels should travel economy and should instead of staying at the Crowe Plaza or Sheraton pick something more humble. :victory:

Tomorrow, I need to spend the day looking at F1 cars, instead of working at the office. And I'm getting paid to do all that to. :grumble: ... oh wait, I mean :woot: :nyah: :yippee:
I don't know if I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow night. Since it's a close and it's gonna be with the new kid. My throat feels very full of some liquid substance that makes it hard to talk so it would be really hard to have to tell him what to do. Plus talking to customers. Should I call in again????

I suggest they stay at the Conrad Hilton in Brussels.

I would definitely call in sick. It's important that you get better, not worse, and exerting too much energy, especially when it involves talking, will definitely make it worse.

Called. Boss can't cover cuz he's teaching a class. Three other shift supervisors not scheduled-
1. Going to a paid retreat.
2. Voicemail and already covered my open at 5 today.
3. Helping mom with stuff.
If 2 is not able then I will either have to call other stores which require me to then call the numbers of the available people as well, or just go in anyway. Damn, if it were with someone else it wouldn't be that bad. But it's with the new guy who's only 18 and it's his first job. That means I will be doing twice the work. Plus explaining stuff. :shakehead: Please, 2, call me back. I will give you my Best Buy coupons.

Nice pick! But I reckon they would prefer to stay in the aforementionned Formule 1 motels
They covered my shift but didn't tell me. I'm not complaining though. I hope with this night of rest I will be at 100% tomorrow. Of course, I usually feel that 100% for me is only 80% for most people but that's a different story.
Went back to work today. Actually a good day. Fairly busy (deposit over 400 bucks cash, that's a lot for us) but nothing too crazy. Unfortunately the new schedule (for two weeks from now) was up and I have.... two days. WTF? Two days? That's only eleven and a half hours. My boss and I agreed that I like an average of 4 days while I am in school, no less than three, and five is okay occasionally and more often during summer. I thought I didn't have to worry about getting low hours since I'm a supervisor. How does he think less than twelve hours will be enough for me when I usually get over 20?? I'm already going to suffer from two missed days this week! There's no sick pay or anything for me. AAAH, why? I wrote him a note saying he's going to put me on the street and I'm going to talk to him tomorrow morning. No, no. This is unacceptable.
Also, I gotta open at 6:30 tomorrow and I can't seem to relax and fall asleep. I think I have a little bit of Nyquil left...
Oh dear  I realized I am the Belgian Anego. I am 32, drink too much beer and I take my naps in the office restrooms. I am not married and have a much younger boyfriend (not Jin Goldfish though :hehe: ).
