Ouch. I'd be a basket case pretty quickly with that commute.

Holy crap. I won't go more than 30 miles away :nut:

Two job interviews this week! One Thursday and one Friday  One at the place where two positions I almost had got frozen. Since another opening came back up and I was last interviewed in December, they are calling me back in to be interviewed again :shamefulcry: The other is for what seems to be a better position for more money, which I highly doubt I'll get because it's more money than I'd hoped/expected. Both would have me fighting through traffic each day, but heh.

To add great timing to it all, one of my clients gave me yet another cold. I just had a bad cold 6-7 weeks ago, damn this line of work where I have to care for residents when they are sick!!! :usuck: I feel like hell and have to interview like this! :bleh:

Ouch. When I was living with my parents, I only had a 16 mile commute. I can't imagine how a 44 mile commute feels like. :beaten:

Good luck on those interviews, K.

Maybe you gotta wear masks and gloves like they do in some of the Asian countries... That must cut the spread down a bit...

I take it the public transit system is a mess there also? Here, we have plenty of options in transit (BART, busses, other train systems) except for one minor problem....they are poorly connected, if at all. If I miss my train, my alternate commute would easily add 2+ hours and multiple transfers (and I live 30 miles from work). Case in point, the Fremont train station and the Fremont BART station is about 3 miles apart. To connect the two would involve (I believe) at least two bus lines.

To say we are a little autocentric in the US would be putting it mildly.

Gambatte! :woot: Hope the interviews go well. :)

Also, hope you're feeling healthier too.

Yep, 44 mile commute, but at least the job compensation is reasonble and most of my commute is via Highway 280, which is very pretty and not too congested 'til I reach San Jose.

SEVEN!

I'll fix you some coffee, Aka', and cover up the curtains and shoo away the neighbors so you can get some sleep later.

It's so hard to be a young attorney... the partners usually work you to death so they can get rich.

I already wear gloves....I have to and wouldn't consider doing anything in this job without them. But the face masks? I don't even know where to get them and since it's distracting I'd probably be asked to remove it. I did wear one when I was sick in Japan and wasn't looked at twice of course, but it is a pain.....blocks breathing a bit and is kinda hot

At least the compensation is good and the highway isn't too congested :) Unfortunately every highway where I am is congested most of the day. Especially I-76 and I-95  I-476 isn't *too* bad in the early to mid afternoon, but in the mornings and early evenings it's pretty awful.

I'm hoping to feel better too by tomorrow. Today I feel worst of all days and I spent the whole day in bed and am about to go back to bed too :puppydog: Damnit, I'm gonna make sure I go to those interviews, I can't call in sick to an interview :nut:

Yeah, I'm fine with 30 miles each way, but that's my limit and it's not exactly desirable. I already drive 20 miles each way now for this crappy job and I complain because it's not worth the money and since I do the afternoon shift, traffic is completely unpredictable. :usuck:

Sure you can. I don't think they would want to interview a sick person...

The place should be sorta understanding about it, considering the time of year... :)
