You got that right. My boss was like "Can you start coming in from 7 - 5 this summer? We're kind of in a bind right now and we need all the help that we can get." But if that's the case then why am I always the only one here for like an hour and a half every morning....with a list of things to do waiting for me on my desk? :shamefulcry: .

That line from your boss must be from the Manager's Standard Playbook, 'cause my boss uses that BS line everytime there's a "supposed" fire... It's more like false urgency. :grumble:

i often wonder what it'd be like if my company ran an f1 team. i can imagine the driver coming into the pits for new tyres. we'd be like 'sorry no tyres 'till tuesday because we forgot to order them! please come back then'

or we'd probably turn up at the wrong circuit!!!

Let's see, I just finished up my 90-day probation at work. I have 17 out of a possible 25 clients. Some of them are a real handful. Some of them are really nice and aren't really a problem at all. One I'm dumping off to another department as soon as possible because he has a drug problem without a mental disorder (claims to be schizo and psychotic, but only has drug-induced psychosis). 3 clients I haven't even met yet, whoops.

Pretty much my whole caseload is a combination of the following disorders/diagnoses: Bipolar, Borderline Personality, Schizoaffective, Obsessive-compulsive, Dissociative, Polysubstance Abuse (must be in combo w/ MH disorder to be on my caseload), Major Depression (recurrent), Post Traumatic Stress. I also have 1 MR client who is non-verbal.

So far nobody who is Paranoid Schizophrenic nor Psychotic. :woot: I have some with bad anxiety and/or paranoia but are diagnosed with other things...yeah, they can be a pain.

Wow, I think you pretty much described a majority of the people here at my workplace. ;)

Bipolars tend to be the easiest of the batch to deal with :hehe:

This guy I knew, his mother was bipolar.
I don't really understand the disorder however, I know at one time she stopped taking her meds and flipped out. She kicked my friend out of the house, took his younger 10 year old sister and went to (another island in Hawaii) Kauai. She ran out of money in Kauai and didn't have enough money to come back to Oahu. I forgot how she got back, however she was able to come back.

Kou, is this something that people who suffer from bipolar disorder may do? Just asking because I figure that you are familiar with this since you work in a related field to mental disorders.

It might help to say bipolar is the new term for manic-depression (not sure which term people are more familiar with). What you described above is probably her having a manic episode. I don't know too much about her but it sounds like it.

One of my bipolar clients recently did something similar. Ok, in short, she's had several suicide attempts, so she's been in the hospital before. One day, out of nowhere, she withdrew all her money from her account and ran up all her credit cards by traipsing around the country for a while. Then, completely broke, she finally came back home.....to an eviction notice on her door. Then she ended up on my caseload.

My understanding of bipolar is that it's a very very severe and sudden change in mood caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and is usually treated with lithium. Happy 1 sec, and an entire 180 in the next, and the poor fellow just seesaws back and forth.

But man... *sigh.. I'm here at work babysitting my processes that're loading freaking 9 years of stock data into a server, not too bad considering this is daily data and is only taking up 50GB raw. But then I'm hearing that we might be getting some intraday data in, and the estimate that I'm getting for those is that it's gonna be around 2-3TB :bleh:

Work is good.
Still putting in a lot of hours however no where near like before. I'm only putting in around 60+ a week now. Those 80 hours weeks I had before were killing me. :beaten:
