I'm connected to LAN network, which in fact is not very "local" - it's spread out over territory of three districts in my city with routers and switces fixed on facades and public lighting pillars. Not a very nice sight, but it works.

Still using DSL. Noticed that after I moved, the service is a bit faster than before.

Check for SBC Yahoo specials, if there are any...
i think a few months back, they were having $15/mo.
Dial up is way too painful.... :bonk:

For $10/month, I can live with it.

if you can find it that cheap, i doubt it....

but you probably don't need the quick d/l rate, since you are at work most of the day, and can log in there.

unless you need it for d/l'ing BT. :hehe:

I wouldn't dare try.

I'll let others do the downloading who have the connection speed and the patience.

i'm born in wrong side of the world
i'm using 56k v.90 telephone modem :shamefulcry:
isp + telephone bills aprox` 1US$ per hour :shamefulcry:
working 7days a week aprox' 200USS per MONTH (if there's no another currency drops :shamefulcry: )
so i can't never browse or download enough like i wan't to.. :banghead:

there's alternatives though via somekind of cable networking (ADSL i think) which is about 100US$ a month ( like I would ever afford those)

@master_boy: I know how you feel - up till 2004, Bulg. Telecom had an absolute monopoly over all outbound data lines. The only way to connect to internet was via dialup with max of 5-6 KB/s. At some point people here got pissed off and started looking for a faster ways to communicate - usually a group of neighbours living in one building creates a small lan network, then negotiates with nearby internet/game cafe club to lease them some traffic, then more people in the hood joins with cables spread between roofs. Eventually some of this networks united and evolved into what we call LAN providers. Now telecom is private, other firms can build fiberoptics, there's DSL and cable net available, so overall competition is good for customers. Hope that one day things'll get better in your country too :victory:
