It sounds awfully familiar.

Maybe because they've had fish burger vs hot dog before.

I went back to the archives (ahem, search engine BMW ;) and saw they did a bagel sandwich against a grilled sandwich. I guess they decided to pit it against a fish burger this time.

They should change the format so that the winner keeps going until defeated. :hehe:

Yes, I went to the Japanese Wikipedia site for the "New Dotch Cooking Show" and saw that the final episode was either filmed (or aired) on Sept 14, 2006. It will be replaced in Japan by a travel show on Oct 19, 2006. So I guess they may be airing repeats (or the remaining eps) until the new song is ready to air.

Edit: It looks like the hosts of the travel show are the same as Dotch: Miyake and Sekiguchi.

I wonder if they're gonna replace Dotch with that travel show here as well...

I wonder if it will be picked up and dubbed/subbed by someone in the USA like the Iron Chef was?

But like I said, they're not in chronological order... They've been jumping forward and back from the new to the old Dotch shows... Odd.

right, but im saying that if that ep was 2004 and it was in the new format, and we've only seen at most 5 in that format. we've got ~2 years of eps that haven't aired here yet, 3 years worth tops.

you're not going to tell me theres 6 years of eps left are you?

Will it have the same format: winners go to a particular city/country and others stay home? :hehe:
20 Sep 2006, 22:59 #1576

If that was the show format, it would get expensive pretty quickly. :hehe:

How long has KSCI been airing Dotch? I wonder if it has the rights to all of the Dotch episodes? If the program has been airing in Japan since 1996(?), that's a lot of shows.

Not sure how long KSCI's been airing the show... I remember watching it sporadically in 2004 because it didn't have any subs then all of a sudden subtitles appeared (late 2004, maybe?)... I started recording the episodes in June of last year... And I've only missed one recording since (power went out, if I recall). :)
