nah, but i stayed at the park hyatt shinjuku (of lost in translation fame) which is literally "right next door" to the tokyo metropolitan twin towers that you so expertly took a picture of...here's some pix approaching dusk outside the 45th floor window of my hotel room.

just wondered what peoples preferences are.

it seems to me that the media such as drama and film centre around tokyo. even samurai movies seem only concerned with edo.

the japanese side of my family are from the kansai region so i visit there alot and i love osaka. i supported the hanshin tigers when i lived there and their games against the giants were great.

i am going to tokyo next year with friends which i'm really looking forward to but i feel osaka is my spiritual home.

I can't say for sure, since I only been in Osaka for a short time. But my final answer would have to be Tokyo.

I think we had a thread like this. Anyway....I felt more comfy in Tokyo but I didn't make it to Osaka (only Kyoto and some surrounding towns). Osaka might be okie since it's pretty urban from what I hear, but I felt much more comfy in Tokyo being a city girl myself... Nothing against the people at all, most people in the Kansai area were so nice with a few exceptions of course :beatyou:

I've not been to Osaka for years so I cannot compare between Tokyo and Osaka.
At the moment I have to say I like to Tokyo and just like Kou said, I am being a city girl and all, feel very comfortable with Tokyo. Then again, I believe I would probably like Osaka too if I ever get the chance to go visit there again.

well, if you ar ea beach person, you'll like okinawa. but don't think it's an all country place too because even tho it doesn't compare to the sheer volume of people to those other 2 places, it still is SO FRICKIN' crowded.

but not to hi-jack this thread anymore, i myself have no pref out of the 2.

I like Beach (but not the sunbathing part). Hmm, I think I might enjoy it.
