well i downloaded "nodame" and watched the beginning but i wasnt really that convinced that this would be something i am gonna like but i will give it another try because juri-san is in it :D and she was the best thing sofar *ggg*

i guess i have to give this series another try i read somewhere that it grows on you and if juri-san is in it it only can be good

i went through the whole thread these past couple of days but i am still not so sure which movies of her are "must-see" and which not so much (arch angels is pretty bad from what i heard right? and engine quiet good? is she much in it, i am sorry if that are questions that are asked a lot there is no need to answer them if you are annoyed by them i just thought i would ask :) )

So the other lady was Koizumi Kyoko. For a second I thought Juri-sama was working with Maki Youko.

Did you see the movie trailer and site links I posted on the previous page?

It's clearly Koizumi Kyoko... Those others pics fooled me as well.

Did you watch the entire first episode or just a little of it?

Engine is a drama and she doesn't have that big of a role in it.

If you're talking movies, then you should watch Swing Girls and Summer Time Machine Blues....

Yeah, you've got to give it time... Though it still might not be your cup of tea.

There are people who actually don't like Nodame...

Just got through Kagayaku Onna...

That part aboard the train where she's talking about love and relationships... sigh. :puppydog: And her, crying in the cathedral. Must have really been some sight for her. Her youth was clearly showing through in those parts.

Loved the bits where she'd provide some insight into her work, and life in general... nothing overly cute, just her being her.

Excellent.

I think the real standout scenes were her being emotionally overwhelmed in that church in Bristol and her surprising embarrassment to that kiss from Alex Shearer... Priceless. :victory:

i watched Kagayaku Onna too and i loved it! she seems like a totally down to earth girl if a little bit quirky (she put on make up and made photos, i thought that was adorable *g*)

i too enjoyed the part where she talked about relationships and things on the train it got me thinking

i wish she would do something like that again

i have a question...are there softsubs for her appearances in these japanese game shows? as much as i enjoy listening to her it would be better if i would understand more then "yes no what?" *ggg* (btw she is so cute in those!)[/i]

I watched the first episode of Nodame Cantabile and was actually turned off by it. So much that I didn't bother to watch the rest and continued on with the anime version. It wasn't until the anime fansubbing group had some delays that I went back to the live-action version, and I haven't looked back :woot:

The only thing I can recommend is to give it at least four episodes. It was after the fourth episode that I was really hooked on.

Yeah, you have to see the whole first episode at least - the intro is pretty rough. And if you aren't totally hooked by the end of Ep 4, you should probably give up - I can bet you'll be hooked though :)

Sadly, no...No one seems to want to take the time to sub the game shows. :(
