Note: Wynter being the artist/teacher that you are I expected you at least to understand the beauty behind having a clean desktop but I guess I was wrong in thinking that way :shamefulcry:
You are wrong because being an artist has NOTHING to do with keeping a desktop clean. :P
Note: Lol we said our point of view and lets let this puppy to rest ok?
I wont comment on your cluttered desktops and we wont continue the icon discussion
Perfect! O, and TW, B-san and I were teasing mostly when we were posting. I'm sorry if we offended you. No need to get so defensive. :)
My current wallpaper is a Kahoko Hino x Tsukimori Len (From La Corda D'oro) that I made... if anyone cares to see it http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/39140493/ voila Ja xXx

Thank you! For all my years colouring art on pc's I'd never used layers properly before... this was a first for me... I was frustrated until I figured out after about an hour that it was actually pretty easy

I don't watch anime so sorry if this is a dumb question hehe.
Did you draw, paint, burned, shadowed, rendered that wallpaper (as in the content?) or is that simply a collage of layers with some ordering
Cause if you drew that, then I tip my hat off to ya, thats simply great.
I'm no where near as good at freehand drawing let alone digital freehand drawing hehe (I'm alright at shading techniques and whatnot)

That's windows vista.
It comes with all the crap.
More can be added by downloading "widgets" as they called.

Oh heheh, thats cool. Good to see art in any form.
I would love to show ya some of my stuff but as you probably guessed by looking at the previous pages I don't deal with anything related to anime/manga hehehe.

Glad you liked it. ^_^
I normally don't like putting my stuff any where but I felt it would be cool to put a tiny fraction of my work online and whatnot hehe.
I will probably embarrass myself by putting this up, but this is one of my old(about 3+ year ago) freehand drawings X_X (yes is resident evil, I know I know, that's cheesy...) :shamefulcry:

Bah, I should stick to just digital drawing hahahaha.
I have improved my freehand skills a bit since then but nothing amazing hehehe.
Note: That was taken with a camera hehe I didn't even have a scanner back then haha.

Wait, what's your definition of art? Because I haven't seen "Art" in this thread (gomen, no offensive given!)
It's just that you use that term too lately. I think there's great skill here and excellent ILLUSTRATIONS, but true art is NOT all about technique, so please remember that.
I think wallpapers can be a "form" of art, but as someone who has studied art all her life, has a Honours degree in art history and fine art, and who is still being acknowledge by her profs as an artist, I have only seen perhaps one or two wallpapers in this thread that would be called art.
Expressing yourself through a medium is great, but don't use the term "art" loosely. If you want to discuss this further with me, please PM me instead of posting in this thread. I've caused us to go off topic.

hahah, ok I'm sorry I did use it a bit too loosely.
I know that art is suppose to be expression and most of the stuff posted here is as you mentioned are illustrations. However, some of my wallpapers do fit in as "art" they express an idea, have a message, and do have a technique. Overall art is very hard to define, and worse of all is a subjective point of view X_X

I'd be interested to see which ones of your wallpapers you considered art, and I've love to be your critic. Some of my published pieces really stir things up in the art community at my university.

Gomen gomen, I don't use AIM on a regular basis, hence the suggestion of PM.
