I do that too, and in a restrained way when I am listening to music in public transport. My wife noticed that a while ago and thought I was having a spasm. :bonk:

How can you say that I'm homophobic when I'm pointing out that the drama misrepresents gays en toto as being flaming, horny, and queer?
You're reacting sensitively toward a certain subject matter. You do see him as flaming, horny and queer (implying the excessiveness of the nature) and you single him out from the rest. There has to be something under the surface. (That's my conspiracy theory.) :hehe:
My entire point is that why couldn't they represent gays as just people and not freaks?
There are a good number of (let me not say freaks but use) eccentric characters with a variety of colorful personalities. But again you chose to see Masumi as the only "freak." There's something about that.
I love Masumi he was one of my favourite characters I thought he was fantastic XD
For a long time, even before I watched this show, and more often when I was little I would/will conduct when a classical song comes on... it's involuntary I swear :hehe: (I don't look quite as dashing as Chiaki when I conduct. He's the prettiest darned conducter I ever did see  )
According to interviews of the cast members in the Fuji TV web site for this drama, none of them performed any of the music in the show. In fact only Ms. Ueno played the piano as a child and know something about it. All of them went through a lot of training mimicking hand and finger movements of the various instruments they 'played'.
It certainly seemed that way. If you watch closely in the early S-Oke scenes, you can see that Mine is on the downstroke of the bow when everyone else is on the upstroke. Though in the later eps, they're much more in sync. If you watch REALLY closely in the final ep, when the camera is way back, Masumi isn't Masumi.
as far as Chiaki, i'd he's about 1/2 second ahead of the orchestra in the final scene, but im no expert in the baton movements.
