heh.. just read the first 3 chapters after he posted that... I think that's the first manga I've read, actually - had to figure out to read it right to left...

I'll just wait for the next SP. :beaten: :fingerscrossed:

Actually, with Juri-chan's powerful performance in Last Friends, she might've moved past Nodame and into the next level... :victory: :puppydog:

Wow that's fast! Last I checked, Japan's more than a day's walk from San Diego.. I guess that means that FedEx overnight doesn't mean walking...

As far as her having moved past Nodame.. I sure hope not. It's that cuteness that makes her so appealing! Nodame was a rich role in its own right and I hope that she'll continue to be so endearing and vulnerable (in that way (as I'm not sure Ruka's not extremely vulnerable as well)).

I just started to look through everything:

The separate single disc DVD [image] has a map of Prague and Paris, behind the scenes stuff/interviews, a 1-1/2 hour promo video with more behind the scenes stuff (the footage looks like the same one that Stage6 had posted a while back:

[image] [image]

The special DVD [image] has a Nodame passport(?) wallet, extra space for the above DVD, and three discs: one for each lesson and a special disc with interviews and a number of complete concert music performances (no dialog or cutaways)... :)

And one other thing I've noticed while scanning through the two Lessons: there's apparently extra footage ( :woot: ) not shown in the original broadcast...

Sweet. :applaud:

Maybe Nodame 'programmed' Chiaki to do exactly that whenever they travel together on a plane. :hehe:

Oooh.. that's a nice package of stuff :)

Btw.. Nodame alludes to the plane flight to Europe when she's feeling homesick on the bridge ("You weren't so confident when we were on the plane" or something like that)

Yup, it's almost a replication of the original boxset, less the cell phone trinket and handkerchief.

Thus the flashback of him cowering on the plane... The face Nodame makes is hilarious. :hehe:

Makes me wonder if it's a determined "I'll protect you, Senpai"-face or a "Gyabo!"-face. Maybe it's a little bit of both :)

More SP DVD observations:

Not only are there added scenes throughout the two lessons, but it the background music has changed in several places as well... This only occurred in one place in the original series (as noted by thtl), but it seems more rampant in the SP... :headscratch:

The Special Disc in the SP box set is sorta disappointing in comparison to the one in the original box set: there's only the selected musical performances and post-wrap thank yous from the cast... No NG or behind-the-scenes stuff. :puppydog:

I guess the behind-the-scenes material (and a little NG stuff) was left for the Europe disc... At an extra cost.

They shoulda just packaged it all together... I can't imagine someone just buying one without the other... Unless FujiTV planned that. :(

To make more money, prolly. Kinda tricky and sucky.

Btw, I didn't know you got that much stuff in a box set! No wonder they're so expensive.

Definitely sucky.

But they also know that the Nodame otakus will gobble anything and everything up...

It's more packaging than actual material...

Still, it's pretty packaging which will enhance any Nodame shrine :)

Another SP DVD observation: the dubs for all the non-Japanese-speaking Europeans are still there... Unfortunately. :(

Reminds me of those bad dubs (are there any "good" dubs?) for those 70's Kung-Fu movies.

Those dubs for Kung-Fu movies are so bad they're good, in a corny way :victory:

I wonder how much time and money it would've set back the Nodame DVD producers to put in subtitles instead for the Europeans instead of dubbing. Maybe it's just a matter of convenience for Japanese viewers so they don't have to read too many subtitles.

Anyhow, I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive :fingerscrossed:
