1. Wonderful family drama! [Rating: 10/10]
I had high expectations for Akimahende, and it definitely delivered! I love family dramas, and this one managed to maintain that extra flare. To begin with, the intro to the show is one of the best Ifve ever seen. The comedy is perfectly timed and ACTUALLY funny. Each character holds its own, which makes it really hard to have a favourite.

The casting was grand. Ifve seen Fujiwara Norika in Love Generation, and thought she was just okay, and quite dispensable. In Akimahende, however, she was simply marvelous. She was perfect as a struggling model with a determined head on her shoulders. She was one of the characters that made me laugh out loud in my seat. Then there was Uchida Yuki, who was paired with Nishimura Masahiko. Although physically the pairing looked quite awkward, both parties pulled it off so well! Sumire really looked like she cherished Sam, and Samc letfs just say Ifll never EVER be able to forget that trench coat! I loved it when he popped onto the scene. His role was completely different than the one Ifve seen him play in NsfAoi, and Ifve convinced hefs an excellent actor. Ninomiya Kazunari was okay but Suzuki Anne was definitely the child-star in this drama. And of course, I canft ignore the glue that held the drama together: Nakamura Tamao! Although I found her a little annoying at the beginning, she definitely grows on you.

Not a lot of thought is required to watch this drama, but it was grand regardless. Excellent comedy with a heart-warming theme. Although it got repetitive at times, it wasnft enough to bore me, nor irritate me. Which is always a good thing. ;)

2. Starts out great, but lets you down as it goes alo [Rating: 6/10]
After watching the first episode, I had big expectations for this family drama. The second and third episodes quickly lowered my expectations right back down. Great laughs at first, then it slows down and concentrates on the selfish and ridiculous kids with unrealistic and unsatisfying storylines. The woman who plays Katsura was wonderful, she has great comedic timing and a bubbly personality. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the rest of the cast. Especially annoying is the kid played by the kid from Arashi. Clearly, he was just starting to learn acting here and you can tell. He's pretty terrible and it's hard to get through his many scenes. The little girl is quite good, but she doesn't seem to ever get enough of a story to do anything with. I enjoyed the wacky May-December romance between Sam and Sumire, but ultimately that ends in disappointment as well. So much potential for this drama, with little potential realized. A bit of a disappointment.

3. akimahende! [Rating: 7/10]
what i think was good about this drama was that the four children each had their own troubles.. but still came together because of katsura-san.. uchida yuki stole the show as sumire the bank worker in love with her boss and would go to any means to capture him from his successful wife.. nino in one of his first roles in drama did well as daiki who didn't want to follow the path his father planned out for him and rather follow his own dream.. but the credit should go to suzuki an as satsuki.. as such a young actress at that time.. she managed to pull off the role convincingly.. all the characters complemented well together..

4. Good acting from all the ensembles ! & really [Rating: 8/10]
A warm family-valued theme drama .. never out of date..lots of laughs though. Good acting from all the ensembles. Something to watch when you feel bored. It can lighten you up. Nino is cute, just want to twist his cheeks... ... how come all these years he has never changed ! ... always looks young.. very boyish face... up til now... love him..

5. Well... [Rating: 7/10]
It wasnt deserving of any academic appraise, but its got a certain flair about it; a comical aspect that while being carefree, was pleasantly fun to watch.

I'd watch repeats. Too bad they never show any.

A zany comedy-laden dorama that you'll either like or you won't due to its high-energy plot with every individual having issues to overcome while trying not get tangled up with each other! On the surface, it may seem like a woman assuming the role of housekeeper trying to win over the household that will eventually become her family ... as she's engaged to the head of the household who's away on business. Dig in a little deeper and chaos begins to surface! Noriko Fujiwara as the spoiled wanna-be actress with marriage problems. Yuki Uchida and Masahiko Nishimura (Sumire .... Sam-O) trying to sustain a secret relationship that gives way to Noriko giving Masahiko the nick-name "Pikachu" ... absolutely hilarious! The story is likely to make your head spin; however, it's definitely worth a watch!

An enjoyable family series about an old woman who brings together a broken family. It's a cute and light-hearted series that's interesting to watch but the over-the-top acting sometimes makes it difficult to watch. Suzuki Anne, although young, makes a very memorable character and I ended up finding her character to be one of my favorites in this series. I watched "Stand Up!" before this series and it was funny to see Suzuki Anne and Ninomiya Kazunari as brother and sister roles. It was still very cute though. I recommend watching this if you want something light-hearted and something to watch off and on. The ending is also something to look forward to seeing.

This one reminds me of 'before they were famous' drama for Noriko, Ninomiya Kazunari and Suzuki Anne where you see the 3 actors looking very differnt from. Nakamura Tamao, supposely the soon-to-be step mom, pretents to be a maid and get to know the children of the man whom he is about to be married to. Nakamura teaches the children good manners and the proper way of life.

hilarious drama! i loved it :) ...nino and suzuki anne's acting was so good when they were young, it was amazing to see how they acted before they were together again in stand up!! ...also uchida yuki and fujikawa norika were good too... i could die for yuki's eyes ><

Another family dorama where this woman met a man, they are going to married each other and this woman faces certain problem with that man's children, it had hilarious moments where you will fall of your chair, but still I don't really rate this dorama that highly. ;)

Has its funny moments, but can get repetitive after a while. An overdose of irritating character antics makes it harder to sit through an episode sometimes. However, the characters are lovable at times and the family theme is heart-warming at its best.

I thought the characters were really annoying at first, but I grew to like them as the story went on. It's a family drama about some really annoying kids. However, it has a great cast and some really funny moments. 14-year old Ninomiya is so cute!

Quite enjoyable comedy/drama, good almost be 9 but sort of dragged for a few episodes. Excellent performance by Nakamura as a housekeeper who has to hide the fact she may marry the children's father, plus as usual Yuki Uchida is superb.

funny sometimes.. also about kinship and a wierd obachan.. i like daiki..and suzuki an can act, although she's only 11 at that time.. the thing this drama lacks is the touch of reality in a family drama..

Not exactly your Oyaji typical family drama but very good nonetheless. It had so many comedic moments throughout the show consistently. A very happy drama to watch and it was a lot better than I expected.

So funny - Katsura - she has me in stitches everytime she meddles with the unruly children's affairs and the butler too is so entertaining. As for the children, I have eyes only for the two youngest because the two older girls does not come across as very convincing.

fun to watch.. really got me laughing at times.. Nakamura Tamao, Nishimura Masahiko and Anne Suzuki were especially great..

the flow of the story was just right.. and the cinematography is great, too..

even the opening credits is awesome!!

Just Funny. Seminal comedic performance by Nakamura Tamao. Nice to hear some Kansai-ben in a drama. Sibling characters grow from almost unwatchably petulant to adorably engaging. Nothing complex. Somewhat Disney-esque.
