Looks like the PS3 is delayed 'till Christmas 2006. News :puppydog:

I'm playing Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow on the DS. Great game. I think I only played the 1st and 2nd one on the NES and I wasn't a big fan back then. I guess I'll have to check them out.

Yeah... and that's for Japan. If it's like the PSX and PS2, we won't have it here until spring 2007. :shamefulcry:

One more reason to move to Japan. ;)

gamers here are going to be pretty miffed...sony can't afford to keep failing to meet expectations...they're already losing out to competitors in various fields.

That's what I don't get: Sony MUST implement their baby: the BluRay format. Introducing new formats is hard enough on itself, but to use it in their machine while the format isn't out yet (are they still arguing about the security issues) is even more a gamble.

Also they don't mark the PS3 a gamesconsole, another big mistake. Us gamers don't care shit about Bluray/HD-DVD or whatever format is being used: we want to game first, all the other things like a mediacentre is nice, but not a must.

Yep. They're having problems with the iPod and are getting their asses kicked by cheaper goods from Panasonic, a few other Japanese companies as well as South-Korean ones. They're closing plants and laying off people by the tens of thousands. It's not good for Sony.

It's a good thing for them the Xbox 360 is out of stock in most stores and the games are just direct ports from other consoles. The games I saw weren't better looking than their Xbox version. =T

If you ask me, that's one of their major problem. They try to impose their format to the world and then, try to cash in with the royalties. They did it for years with their TVs and now they're trying with the memory sticks and still trying to impose their ATRAC3. :usuck:

The problem is, because of their royalties, the products based on their patent made by 3rd parties are more expensive, so people choose another product with another format. They have the same quality, if not better, but cheaper. :)

you're absolutely right...

moreover...sony's film division had a bad year last year so they don't even have that to bank on....those fools are prolly waiting to cash in on spider man 3 :P

Did someone say Betamax? Oh, it's just the voices in my head.

Personally, I liked the Minidisc format. It was just poor execution by Sony.
