I looks nice. The handwriting recognition is ok. From the clips, the writing is lousy and the game still finds the right kanji. Interesting movies here that shows different functions. Quiz, english dictionary...

I'm buying this thing too. :)

That's good, cause my kanji handwriting is terrible as well. :beaten:

That's cool. It'll be good practice to see if it recognizes your pen strokes. The big question is, why don't they introduce something like this (Japanese lessons) on the DS in the US and Canada? I would think there's a market (hello?? me??)
15 Apr 2006, 07:38 #1827
I don't know why... , but I'd buy it too. Wow, the market has increased by 100%. :hehe:

I've seen one for the PSP called Win-JPT, but it's made for Koreans. :( There's also Talkman for the PSP too. I'm not sure if it's good or not. You talk in the microphone and it translate what you said in English, Japanese, Korean or Simplified Chinese. It probably sucks and have few sentences.

As for the DS, the only thing that comes close to learning material would be this for the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) portion. :puppydog:

I have one for the PC. It's small (804kb) and it's free. :D
It's the best one I've found. The only thing missing, would be to be able to change the font.

I've played Dynasty Warriors since it was born. :applaud: Of course, there's always an expansion set for every Dynasty Warriors game out there, normally referred to as Extreme Lengends for 3 and 4.

Even though I prefer the latest character Xing Cai the most, the strongest characters in my opinion would have to be Ma Chao when he is mounted on the horse, and Lu Bu, hands down. Zhang Liao can be just as good as Lu Bu if you hand him the right kind of weapon, Meng Huo is just as deadly as ever when he's close to performing his final moves, and Zhou Tai still has a nice little fancy swordplay he likes to show off from time to time when things get rough. Gan Ning can also be cheap if you use his musou the right way, of course.

Me, I started with Dynasty Warriors 3, and since then I have been following the next installments of the game, and even played it's Japanese-style counterpart, Samurai Warriors ;) .

My favorite character is Zhou Tai because his style of fighting is like a Samurai :metaldevil: . And of course, the mighty Lu Bu  . You also forgot to mention Guan Yu among the strongest characters in this game, who I think is second to Lu Bu when it comes to fighting with spear.

Guan Yu! :banghead: I was always thinking of anybody but Shu over on this corner here lol - you know, with his oath brother counterparts, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei. They seemed pretty decent though if you've played Romance of The Three Kingdoms 7 or 8 before, which is totally into strategy. :metaldevil: What drives me nuts is when you're playing in the hardest difficulty on one of the Dynasty Warriors games and it takes like one gazillion blows to kill the bigger warriors [if gazillion is even a word in the English dictionary here - lol].

Speaking of which, they placed Nu Wa out of commission after Dynasty Warriors 3 ended and slapped her with Zhou Tai revamped. Now I hail that guy as the king of swords, especially when he sheathes it so gracefully and when tapping the charge attack like mad, he starts doing a series of swift swings and you can hear the metal clanging everytime. How does he even get the sword back into his sheathe so elegantly in the first place? Wouldn't he have cut himself by now? What skill. :victory:

I didn't like it when they made Liu Bei more of a coward in Dynasty Warriors 5, when he goes against "everything he stands for." Diao Chan is just as bad as ever, but at least Zuo Ci - who is often seen in Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a playable character at least in Dynasty Warriors 5, and he makes up for the weaker characters up there. :applaud: DW5 has the awesome Musou Rage which I love :dancing: - you hardly flinch and do thrice the damage at least :metaldevil: - they made Xu Zhu much dumber this time around - gosh, so many memories. ^_^

And oh yeah, Samurai Warriors! It's been a while, but most of the characters were forgettable after playing it for about a week straight. The only guy I could recall was Oda Nobunaga, obviously. Besides, I bought the soundtrack but I only liked 1 song out of the album. :shakehead: Disappointing indeed. :banghead: At least they brought the training system into play. Sometimes, my girls take too much of a rest, often fail the tests, and end up never getting hired at all.
