For the first time, both finalists from the last WC don't make it out of the group stage.

YOSHAA!!! Samurai Blue advance to the next round. I had to wake up at 3AM to watch but it was well worth it. I can hear my neighbors screaming in the early morning too. Nice way to start a Friday.

First World Cup team in over 30 YEARS to score two goals off two direct shots from free kicks in a single game. Those goals were glorious.

Per se an awesome idea but I fear the main cast would be only constituted of Johnny's.

Yes, pencil thin young guys with makeup who might snap an ankle if they tried to run in football boots.

Johnny's would have to take out an huge insurance policy just in case the ball hit somebody in the head and messed up the hairspray or gatsby rubber styling product on somebody's hairdo.

With those bugged out eyes , Jinnai Takanori would be perfect as the coach.

LOL, Ivory Coast is spanking North Korea, 3-0... Good for the North Korean regime, bad for the North Korean players.

If I was a N. Korean player I would paint my face in RED, BLUE, and WHITE, wear a S. Korean jersey and jump around town blowing a vuvuzela non-stop pretending to be a S. Korean fan to blend in to the crowds to get lost until I can make it to the embassy to seek political asylum.

Problem is, I'll bet each player probably one or two "security guards" assigned to them to prevent any event like that from happening...

And so we have Brazil vs Chile and Portugal vs Spain in the next round.

Once again today, the refs doing their thing. The Spanish player basically trips on himself, yet the Chilean gets a second yellow card, that changed the game. :shakehead:

I'm sure the team will fly to Japan, since a few of the players play in the J-League. Hell, their star striker Jong Tae-se is Japanese born :beaten:

Looking forward to Sunday. England/Germany will go to penalties, I just know it will.

I hope Klose is playing for Germany...given his absence against Ghana due to his red card. Klose and Podolski are an awesome combo...

I just don't think England will enough to pull out a win against Germany...especially after their piss poor performance in group play.

Americans around the world react to Landon Donovan's last minute goal. Pretty darn cool.

True, but from what we've seen at this World Cup so far. ANYTHING can happen.

That Ozil kid is fantastic too, love the way he plays. Kid is going to be a star.
