When I first learned he was born in Japan, I wondered why he chose to play for N. Korea. Then, I saw him crying during the national anthem, I guess the N. Korean sentiment runs deep in him.

But in Japan? What, does he like not go out at all? Just stays in his room watching propaganda. :headscratch:

He was born in Japan, but is he living there?

Isn't North Korea like a roach motel: You can check in but you can't check out?

I admit I don't know much about him but from what I heard on tv, he was born and raised in Japan.

Zainichi Koreans aren't given much love in Japan so I don't think it's that unusual for him to play for the Great Leader. If I were him I, too, would play for the glory of the buffon hairdo.

Who are your picks?

My co-workers have been making fun of mine. They say that I keep on cheering on the colonialists and imperialists. :shakehead:

That being said, I'm rooting for Spain, Portugal, Japan and the US.

I woke up at 5:30am this morning to catch - what I thought at the time was - an exciting game between Portugal and Brazil. Turned out to be a snoozefest, yellow cards aside. By 3:00pm I was sharpening file fasteners wanting to shank somebody out of exhaustion.

Anybody excited to see the USA - Ghana game tomorrow?

Why the heck don't we have a U-S-A chanting icon?
