Is the CD rom the original copy of the program or is it one that you used to burn the program?
I suggest that you extract the program to your hard drive and then burn it as a data CD. <---- of course you will have to do this at work. Since you can't do it at home.
Then at home, open the CD. Extract the program to you hard drive, or directly install the program off the CD. <--- Your choice! It should work this way.
Often time certain CD, can't be read by a DVD drive, because it just doesn't support the type, because it is a DVD drive. Some DVD players play certain CDs that another won't. That depends on the drive.
I hope this was somewhat helpful! I hate having computer problems too! :shakehead:
Yeah, it was the original program CD that I bought. I have already done what you suggested...... i'll see how it goes tonight :) Thanks anyway :)
So did anyone try Vista yet? If it's up to me, I wouldn't want to try myself before SP1 is out. BUT:
I got my hands on legit Business vista cd's WITH serial number this week. I sorta *ahem* borrowed it from work, it came with all the useless technet cd's that Microsoft is sending every month  I just don't have the time to install it yet.

AH! I so wanna get the damn thing installed too. It looks awesome- with the flip screen diff. view thing :woot:
Ok I did have some time on my hands today and I'm quoting myself (from another forum)
we received some trial Vista cd's at work and I sorta *cough* borrowed them:
I wanted to test Vista on a slower system, here goes:
My testrig: MSI K8NGM2, AMD64 939 3000+, Corsair 2x256mb 3200 DDR CMXC2PT, Maxtor 80gb, all at default speed - not overclocked.
Aeroglass mode was switched off by default, not sure if that's normal so I activated this: runs fine, even with my onboard not so great Geforce 6150.
However I do see an increase of 40mb ram usage no less, total ram in use: 350mb.
So MS didn't lie, 512mb is enough to run Vista, but when you open up a few more windows or heavy applications Vista will start to swap: nothing new to Windows users.
My conclusion is that 1gb of ram is a must to run Vista properly, while running XP 512mb was more than sufficient for the average user.
This isn't much of a problem, since memory is cheap these days. I remember I paid over $200 for these 2x256mb Corsair sticks a few years ago.
Then the horror begins: Zonealarm isn't supported by Vista! not even the latest version, same goes for NOD32, older versions won't work.
I even got my first BSOD in Vista while toying around with my wireless network: not good. This is kinda sad, my verdict for now is wait till all the daily applications are updated to work properly with Vista, this feels like Windows 64 all over again.
things that I still need to test: encoding with vdub, rip a movie, play games, unpacking large files, burn dvd's: when I have time
