uhno wrote:Vacuum cleaning? Really? Doesn't that mess up the electric stuff. You probably have to be really careful.

I usually use a combination of compressed air and the vacuum... Maybe even a really soft, clean artist's paintbrush... As long as you're grounded.

but yeah, vacuum cleaner is safe, it's just air right? First I wipe the dust with a cloth, then vacuumclean to finish the job. Ofcourse it would be safe to have your PC turned off :hehe:

I know....my emoticon was too obvious! I should have used another emoticon to convey my thnx! :hehe: That would be kinda funny if guys messaged each other with those emoticons!!! Imagining you and B-san exchange those..... too funny!

I'm gonna try cleaning my comp with the vacuum. Obviously only with air! :hehe: Of course I'll remember to turn the comp off... I know that much! :usuck:

While you're at it, can you clean my tower too? :hehe:

nah, j/k I just stripped my main rig and started cutting my tubes, and trying to think of a new better loopsetup: awful work when you're tired. following is leaktesting. Glad I have more than 1 PC at my disposal

meh, I should leave this till tomorrow. It's weekend, no time to play nerd :beaten:

My kids found this site some time ago. I've d/l some stuff....
Every day they give away some software and a game. You have to d/l it within the time limit and activate it before the time runs out. It's completely free. Most of it is junk but once in a while they give away a goody and some games are fun...

I think I should shut up now :beaten: seems like anything that I'm saying will be used against me, are you in lawyer school? :hehe:
your deductiveness is rather scary, you should take my L avatar

ontopic: took me years to convert from Norton (shame on me), been using NOD32 for nearly a year, it's quick and fast. Normally with Norton it took 25mins to scan only my C: drive that's 10gb in size, with NOD32 it scans all my HD drives (total of 500gb) in 20mins :victory:

and since we're talking handy utilities, I can recommend PerfectDisk for defragging: it's amazingly fast compared to Norton Defrag.

@Terryb -Yes, you have the right to remain silentcall things you say will be held against u in the court of law! :hehe: Ok stupid jokec.. what is your L avatar?
Ok thatfs enough nowc.

On topic:
I have Nod32. I really like it. The only problem I have with it is it doesnft seem to scan all my files. It doesnft scan all of my folders, particularly movies. When I run a scan, it will say some files cannot be scanned. Is this supposed to happen? I hope not, cause whatfs the point of an antivirus program that doesnft open every file??

Thnx everyone for the replies. I tried Norton, it sux. I installed it and found out that the program was a virus! Oh the irony!! :hehe: I heard Bit Defender is the best, but I havenft heard much about it.

<--- my avatar of L, he's a character from Death Note. I highly recommend this anime/manga/movie. It's awesome :woot:

anyway, I'm such an idiot: I didn't order enough tube :shamefulcry: so frustrating, they don't sell this size of tube over here I'm kinda screwed. Or forced to a different setup that I had in mind... now I'm thinking of buying a new bigtower. BUT I already set my eyes on a new HD :puppydog: didn't plan to spend this much *sighs*

oh yeah, NOD32 says it can't open one particular file, which is your pagefile: that's totally normal. You can also change the filetype being scanned in the setup tab of your scanwindow.

No, I get that you were referring to your avatar...I just didn't get the relevance!

I find with computers, it's impossible to budget. I mean, whenever I buy one, or get one built, I make sure everything is the best, at the moment. Which is dumb, cause technology is always changing... And a guy that understands computers....is never an idiot!

That pretty much applies to any consumer electronics product... You just have to do a lot of reading and weigh the performance to cost factors, then jump in... :)

And have no buyer's remorse a few months later. ;)

Very true! Although it is hard not to have buyer's remorse when technology is changing all the time!
