Oooh, all this talk about space has got me wanting more drives. A RAID setup doesn't sound bad.... There goes my wallet.

I wont be putting my drives on a RAID setup.

But then again I'm looking at getting a AMD 64x2 early next year maybe around Feb.

i'd set up another RAID, but since i dont do much video work on this machine, i dont see it as anything i'd need. waste of money since i wouldn't be able to take advantage of the speed.

just keep burning :hehe: at first I'd just buy new HD's. then all IDE connections were taken. nowadays you can add even more S-ATA drives, but you'd need a tower like Coolermaster Stacker to mount them. But I really hate the noise and heat it generates - so I wouldn't go for this setup.

I just burn everything away now, especially with the growing size of HDs now, the risk of losing even more data is becoming something to be feared of. (this is something personal though, I just don't trust HDs)

Q, let me know if you have a question. There are deals all the time. Different drives, but deals nonetheless.

i personally like the Sunnyvale Fry's elect more than the one in Fountain Valley. I looked at the drives the other day, and there was a whole bunch of them.
Thank for the recommendations, etc... I know who to turn to with computer techie stuff. arigatou!
going to put it off for now, since will focus on backing up my data/vid on dvd's for now. But another drive would be nice to have, incase of computer crashes and whatnot.

what time do you usually head over to Fry's, after work?
they have nice computers there, infact that is where i got my HP computer last year, but at the one at Fountain Valley. got my 19" LCD at Costco though...

There is one store in Fremont. But the Sunnyvale one is closer to my work. I usually go at lunchtime, or after...it all depends. Have I said that I have visited all 7 NorCal Fry's, the 1 in Washington, 1 in Austin TX, Las Vegas, and San Diego, Anaheim, City of Industry, Fountain Valley, and Manhattan Beach Fry's? No? :ashamed:

if you're looking for a drive, and you're not in a hurry.. keep an eye on xpbargains.com
you'll see excellent deals there every so often.. even with shipping, it's less than most local vendors, and probably no tax too.

My friends and I are planning to do a Black Friday camp out. We'll probably be there at 3AM in the morning. I'm in dire need of a new mid-range video card so here's to finding a good one for under $150. :hehe:
