Hmm, what's the problem with rebates? just fill in the your info that's it right? wish we had those great deals over here

as there's no room no more in my tower and I need more HD space I've been looking at external drives too for some time (and qilver's posts) this one is cathching my eye: comes in black/blue and red.

I think this one is kinda sexy. though the price of a 250gb HD itself + this case costs the same as a WD 250gb all in one dual option external drive.

It's been carped about before, but they're just there to screw people.

If the companies were on the up and up, they'd just take the $20 or whatever off the price when you buy it and not make you wait 8-12 weeks for a check that could possibly get lost.

If you're looking for hard drive space check the stuff at IBM.
I recommend the IBM TotalStorage DS8000. You can't go wrong with 192 Terabytes of storage and 256GB of Ram. If you need more hard drive space it has an architecture designed to scale over a petabyte.

Ideal to store your dramas, pictures and mp3 collection. :hehe:

The only down side: It's less portable than a memory card, because it's bigger than a fridge and weights almost 3000 pounds.

wonder what the electricity bill would be.

According to the brochure:
Caloric value BTU/hr: 30,000
Electric power kVA: 8.7

Just enough to stay warm on a cold winter day. :hehe:

anybody got a recommendation for a shareware/free software that allows one to make a short video clip from a video file?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you want to simply extract a segment from a larger video file?

If that's the case, VirtualDub will allow you to select keyframes to extract into a separate video file.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on that one.

But I hate rebates.

Hate 'em!!! :grumble:

Even if it's $20?

BestBuy has the PNY AttacheL 1GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive for $40 - $20MIR = $20 + `$4 shipping. Thanks bigbrother & senmun.

$20, $50, $100... It's still a freakin' rebate.

If the manufacturer was so keen and generous on giving consumers a price break, why not just cut the price by $20/$50/whatever....??

Ugh..... Been noticing that my workstation's been behaving odd, and noticed that the damn PSU isn't expeling as much air as it should. :bleh:

I guess I overworked that thing to death. 5HD, 2DVD-Burner, and a 6800. *sigh... But then I guess this is the reason that I need to get me that Seasonic S12. Taking this oppurtunity to change out my fans too to all panaflo.

*sigh... I'm gonna miss that 300w Sparkle.
