Looks like the fix I made to my CRT monitor was only temporary: it's starting to flake on me again... :grumble:
Guess I'll be buying myself a new monitor for Christmas...

not sure if you want to shell out $299, but saw some good ones at Costco 19" LCD View Sonic, they are slowly coming down in price. The times are changing, say good bye to the CRT's... :hehe:

Hmm, I'll have to check that out.

Yeah, probably.
But as discussed earlier, LCDs have one resolution that they're optimized for and CRTs are still the choice for photographers and graphic artists since they render the colors better...

sure sure....but CRTs are too damn bulky, and are one day going to be obsolete, like other things...tape player, vcr, etc....
besides LCD's take up less space... :hehe:
I want a laptop! But I have no money to buy one! :argh:

You're telling me you missed out on those fine $400 laptops the day after Thanksgiving? ;) And don't you tell me you tripped on that lady's wig.

the lady actually had a shank under her wig which she was prepared to use to get a notebook if somebody hadn't thrown a banana peel in front of her

Maybe he tripped over her... She was a pretty good sized speed bump.
Looks like I'm gonna buy a 19" LCD monitor for my PC...
Not sure if I should be overly concerned with the response time and/or the native resolution (usually 1280x1024--I want 1600x1200).... :headscratch:
Input, fellas?

I'm sure krim will post some deal for a Dell 20.1" that can display 1600x1200. I use that resolution at work and wish I could have it at home...Less scrolling.
Make sure the response time is 12ms or lower, because at high res. it will give you eyesores. For me anyway...

Problem is that most of good deals i find involve rebates, and we all know how BMW hates rebates. :hehe:
for example:
Amazon has the Acer AL1913cb 19in LCD Monitor for $250 - $50 rebate (exp 12/5) + $10 shipping = $210 shipped after rebate, no tax for most states.
VGA (analog D-sub) signal connectors, 500:1 Contrast Ratio, Two integrated 2.5W speakers, 1440 x 900 resolution
Office Depot has the Sony SDM-HS95B 19" LCD Monitor (Black) for $450 - - $100 rebate (exp 12/31) - $150 rebate (exp 1/1/06) = $200 w/ free shipping.
Crisp 550:1 contrast ratio, fast 12 ms response time, Sharp 1,280 x 1,024 native resolution, fine 0.294 mm dot pitch. Analog and digital DVI-HDCP signal inputs;
Best deal on the 20.1 Dell Widescreen rightnow is $414 + tax
Fry's has a 19" Viewsonic with an 8ms response time... $329.
After a $50 rebate. :grumble:
