One of the reasons why I'm afraid to get married again. :puppydog:

Well we might as well be upfront and talk about it here. It is a reality of the possible ending of a marriage. If most people put more serious thought into whom they chose to marry (me included), there would be fewer divorces. It is great to be romantic when deciding on a future marriage partner, but it is wiser to be realistic and see the person for who they really are, not who you wish they were. :victory:
Lesson learned, that's for sure. Even if I DID learn it the hardway... :victory:

Lucky girl, Enna. Your divorce and Ex sound civilized.

Yeah lucky in one way, but sometimes I think when you go through life lessons that take you to hell and back, you come out stronger and wiser,
So Eve I think of you as a wiser and stronger woman. Plus you aren't bitter and haven't given up all hope on men. You have a wonderful B/F to prove that. You too Wyn-chan you are wiser and stronger for what you have gone through at a young age. :victory:
Maybe because my divorce was sooooo easy I haven't learned all the life lessons in regards to men that I was supposed to learn yet. :bonk:
wife is gonna let her green card expire by not coming back to US to renew it. -all that time (years) and money spent on obtaining it just for shit... :grumble:
Good luck with your divorce aho. I wish you the best with Rina, Nanako and Rika. :D

Like in drama, proposing before you even had the chance to go out for a second date. :nut:
I don't think about marriage, so I should be ok for a while. :fingerscrossed:

Youre pretty wise too, Enna.
I think I have too short term a memory to be bitter for long... :bonk:
Of course, I might be when my lawsuit ends... but Im hoping not!! :fingerscrossed:
Wynter <--- oblivious in all matters concerning love
Don't take any notes from me girrrl or you'll be sitting alone at home on your computer while talking to your two cats. :bonk: :hehe:

Thanks Eve-chan! :glomp: I am happy to learn from all of you here.

Don't worry A.D. I won't. I am still a true romantic at heart! :love2: Makes note to self...work on selfishness. :bonk:
Anime Dad wrote:I'm no expert either, Enna-chan :) I just know what works for us :)
I know serveral couples who have been married as long as Mrs A.D. and I, who are very unhappy :(
Are they staying together for the children's sake?
I guess that is the most important thing A.D. to not only know what works for you as a married couple, but to keep working at it constantly and never take your marriage for granted.
My sister has been happily married for almost 40 years. It's a miracle! :hehe: Most of my relatives all had or currently have successful long marriages. Almost all of my female friends are either divorced (the husbands cheated), or are widowed. One of my female friends has had a successful 20 year relationship with the same man. I think their relationship works because they live in two different states. :hehe: As for me........I am not down on marriage. I live in the suburbs so I am surrounded by married couples in my neighborhood. So I have both positive and negative examples all around me. I hope for the best. :victory:
I hate to be the one to drag this thread up from the depths of this forum, but my rabu raifu just sucks.
I got involved with one guy who left for the mainland and now my side dish told me that because I got involved with someone else, we can only be friends. Oi, so now I lost 2 guys in the space of a week and a half. I shouldn't have gotten involved with someone else unless it was a sure thing. :shamefulcry:
Haha, not really side dish. :P I've known him for almost 2 years, but we mostly talk on the phone and he gives me advice and stuff. He's kind of more like a mentor, but we've gotten involved on a handful of occasions. It just sucks that I threw that part of the relationship away for a temporary thing with no guarrantees. :shamefulcry:
You play the field, you're bound to make an error. :beaten:
where's the field, i must've gotten lost when i got kicked out of the last game....'doh!! lol
seriously though, the relationship market, hasn't been too hopeful, and it's been extremely dry, but partly because of my fault and getting complacent and lazy to pursue a relationship....after some time to be selfish and cynical, and after one of my friends gave an encouraging talk about girls/relationships, i figure i give it another try on eharmony and another dating website....but haven't had too much luck on it, but i gotta try and get out there again, even if it takes a lot of risk/effort to get back into it. I should be encouraged, but its tough!

i think a good friend and mentor is something very valuable. It is that closeness we seek overall as people yearning to feel and be loved. That closeness that is beyond friendship and for some so rare...
i think if i were in that type of perdicament/situation, i would be greatly tempted, but i would probably really shake up and risk my friendship with a good female friend, if i had one.

I never considered using an online dating site, but after all the bad luck and lack of contact with guys because I hardly go out, I'm slowly considering it. But only as a last resort. Or if I turn 40 without even coming close to getting involved with someone. :P Haha, maybe we should have a jdorama online dating thread because I'm sure that jdramas could be a must in dating someone. :hehe:

Yes, the mentor guy is very valuable to me and I am so grateful that he came into my life. I just wish that I treasured his friendship more.
And the feeling of being loved by someone is really rare for me. Sure, I have family and friends, but no one on a romantic level. Not for a very long time. I hate that I sometimes get so depressed about it and it sucks that when someone with any sort of potential comes into my life, I am just so damn happy that it's pathetic. I just wish I could find someone who makes me happy and vise versa. Damn, this post is just so embarassing. :ashamed:
