Wynter wrote:I dunno if the hours are long in comparison to other jobs. I work from 7:30am to 5 or 5:30pm, depending on the extra-curricular. I'm only paid to work from 8:05am to 3:05, so I actually work 3-4 hours AT SCHOOL without pay. Extra-curriculars we're not paid to do, which is why most teachers don't bother with it.

When I get home, I usually put in an hour of prep for each class I teach, so that's another 3 hours I'm not paid for. And that doesn't include marking.

Now, I get 1.25 hours of prep time during the day, and 1.25 hours for lunch, but lunch is usually spent giving students extra help or photocopying. Or cafe supervision if it's my week.

Wow, I feel depressed now. lol

Ok, I just got all tired out by reading all that. :nut: Your schedule's insane and I gotta give you credit for putting all that extra time that you do. I sure as hell wouldn't do that. I guess that's why I have an office job so I can leave all my work at the office and concentrate on dramas.

And wtf @ the rest of everyone's posts after that. I thought this was a thread about work, not fodder for my sex dreams. :hehe:

It gets easier as the year passes. :)

On Topic: I thought I would have a lot of prep time this weekend since no one's home... but I keep getting distracted. >>waves at her peeper<<

Had to call the police on a "customer" today for the first time. She was picking a fight because we weren't serving a roast she liked. Even though we all gave her many options, she rejected them all. She left and came back after a minute, just trying to start arguments. She was all arrogant when I told her she would have to leave or I would call the police, until I actually called and then she bolted. Did get the license number. Will call police back if she comes back again. They don't pay me enough for this... :grumble:

She wasn't even a customer since she didn't buy anything. Man, we usually don't have people that bad at our little neighborhood store. The few times we threaten to call the police, they actually leave before we have to call.

Regardless, you should be wary about "customers" who get abusive...

Or I'm just being paranoid.

I know, unfortunately. I hate people. :shakehead: Today was just a bad day all around, which sucks because I started in the morning with a good mood.

Ah, almost time to go back to work! At least I have a really short shift today. Or, you could just... kill me now.

Your not. My brother works at a supermarket, and one of the employees, the manager, was stabbed by a guy claiming he had been hired there. He then went on a rampage, and threatened to kill all the employees. The customers bolted (thankfully) and the employees hid in the back room until the police showed up.

I have a friend who used to work at a grocery store, and one of his manager was also stabbed, but was still able to fight off and overpower the guy until the police came. Thankfully this lady did not do anything physical, but it was obvious she was just trying to get us worked up. I think she wanted to provoke us to do something to her.

I sometimes too :grumble: Today is car-free Sunday in Brussels. Except for public transport, police and those with special permission cars are not allowed on the roads between 7am and 7pm. But like every year there are those who canLt even live 12h without driving needlessly around and endangering playing children and rollerbladers. And on top of that, they are getting annoyed that there are activities, markets and people everywhere on the roads.:shakehead:
I hope they all get all fined

Shouldn't they get fined tho? I mean, it wouldn't be hard spotting a car on a car-free day.

No crazies at work today but an old guy left us a nice poop/vomit splatter on the toilet seat with a smell that actually made me gag. The mess was not big, and the smell was not very strong, but I actually was going to vomit if I breathed. I have to (unfortunately) smell poop and clean messy toilets usually but although the smell is gross it doesn't ever actually trigger my gag reflex. Vomit smell has done that to me though so that's why I wonder if it was throw-up and not diarrhea. Either way, it was gross.
