So nothing out of the ordinary... Doesn't appear to be what tabana mentioned...

If available, can another PC read those discs?

Nope. Unfortunately, I got another bad disc while burning disc 3. I'm just so grateful that I'm using DVD-RW discs because the burning only seems to work half of the time. :usuck:

I'll have to say that it's rare for me to make a coaster nowadays. I'm more likely to forget to set the font and color of softsubs and end up with something tiny you can't read :P Buying good-quality DVD-R's helps too. (Ya, I know you guys already do ;) )

Are you always using the same burner?

Try a different one, if possible.

I'm using Sony and Maxell DVD-RWs for the intial burn, but even though I used Verbatim DVD-Rs at first, I still had a couple of bad burns in a row.

I only have my laptop and the ancient computer. I'm using the laptop to author the dramas and burn them. I admit that the laptop's DVD drive is really faulty (hard to open, a bit unstable at times), but it's quicker than using the old computer. Think it's time for me to buy a new PC?

I've had really bad experiences with Maxell and Verb. I've switched over to Memorex and I've NEVER had a bad disk... and I burn A LOT.

Yes. :victory:

Hopefully you can get one with XP instead of that trainwreck called Vista.

Verbatims are one of the best CD/DVDs in terms of quality and I've rarely had a problem with them until I started using this dvd authoring program. As for Maxell, I have never used them before, but they're supposedly good quality too. Memorex....I've had problems with the discs in the past with the laptop and could never get a good burn. But since those were CD-Rs and not DVD-Rs, I wonder if that would make a difference in this case.

Hah, maybe I should've saved my money instead of buying that digicam, which I haven't really used yet.

And if I do get a new PC, I'd even BUY an XP disc and get rid of that Vista crap.

If you buy a non-name brand PC, like from one of the local PC shops, they can usually install XP... But if you buy from the big boys (Dell, HP, Compaq, etc.), you're pretty much stuck with Vista. :grumble:

Oh jeez, you're just encouraging me to get a new PC, aren't you! :beatyou: I'm so tempted, but then I realize that just buying drama series from people would be more cost-effective. :P Still, it *is* about time I do get one... What to do, what to do.

On topic, 3 minutes until eps 9-12 are done with the burning process. If this doesn't work, I'm gonna have to hit something.

It doesn't have a make. My cousin built it.

I'm good at helping people spend they're money...

Last week, I convinced my officemate to buy a 52" HDTV. :beaten:

Are you sure you're in the right profession? You should be an electronics salesperson. :P

And disc 3 worked perfectly! I noticed that there is a precise step-by-step procedure that I have to do in order for the burning to work: start the program, insert the blank, select "burn to dvd" then select the file(s) to burn. I'm going to try that next time to see if it works. If so, man, this is a really anal program. Or maybe it's my laptop that's anal. :grumble:

2 series done though. :woot: Now to start on the third one later tonight.
