But a hardsubbed file has the subtitles embedded in the video... :headscratch:
That's queer.
I know, that's why I didn't think it'd be a problem using Nero. When I burned 200 Pound beauty for Eve on my mac, I assumed the same and it worked fine. I wonder what went wrong with Nero...
O well, at least I know I won't be using that application (for PC). I'll find a way if a keep hunting. Right now I have ff waiting to be used.

Do you have another burning problem aside form Nero that you can try?
Or can you try burning the same file using your Mac?
I haven't tried it yet, tho I will today... after I catch up here. Yesterday I installed a TV in my room with a DVD player so I can dramas on that now instead of on this computer. I can now burn stuff while watching. :victory:
Okies, so I tried FFmpegX. I finally got it to work, except the subs won't show. I followed the online guide and went to Filters and loaded the subs, but when I played the VIDEO_TS, the subs weren't available. Grr.
So now I found an "Author" button under the tools tab, so I'm gonna try that with the .mpeg file I created earlier. Hopefully it'll work this time. :fingerscrossed:
WMV's can be hardsubbed, but to hardsub it you'll be converting it into another format anyway.
Yappari. :puppydog:
That's what I was thinking too. Sigh. I actually already like the WMV format. Thanks anyway Anime Dad. By the way, what programs do you use to hardsub? I tried a tutorial that involved Subtitle Workshop and saving the .srt sub into .ssa (Substation Alpha? Was that it?) but the result was bad. The encoded subs were far from readable. :bleh:

Use VirtualDub and VobSub to hardsub avi files with .srt files. :)
I've used it for years and it never fails me. :victory:
