Is it one particular episode or all of them?
Try to isolate the problem by removing/substituting episodes...

Well, all the episodes have tha purple shading during certain points of the drama, which gets a bit annoying. The weird glitch with silence happened at the end of the 5th episode with my first try and was ok the second time. And during the second try, towards the ending of the 8th episode, it started slowing down and stopping in one area. There were those colored blocks and glitching as well. That was probably a bad encoding/burn.
I'll have to try this again, but I want to concentrate on the series that seems to be working first.

What drama is it? Maybe you have dud eps, like beem said. Or perhaps it's been encoded with an odd codec that you don't have on your comp.

Uh, how many episodes are you trying to jam onto one disc?
I guess I'll try 3 episodes per disc for that series, but I'm thinking that it's the files that's corrupted. If so, I've been wasting my time for nothing. :grumble:

Are the files okay when you view each them as is, i.e., before conversion?
update on Tmpgenc DVD Author version 3. Finally got a later version of the 3 series with all problems fixed. So far I'm pretty much awed. But, I imported a subtitle stream along with it's AVI file. The virgin subs worked fine but as yet they have not developed any options (that I could find) for setting the font size, color and location. So that's a bust. Even so, since it accepts an AVI file, I'm going to run a time line on taking a subbed AVI file out of Virtual Dub Mod and compare it to first comverting it to MPG and then creating the DVD with the old Tmpgenc DVD author.
Stay tuned.
I found out why my Haken no Hinkaku subs went out. It appears there's 12 seconds of the video file missing, right after the opening credits. Looks like someone cut out the bit where the advertising is :banghead: Now I have to try to work out a way to re-sync the subtitles :banghead:
