Tempting.

It's still on my HD, since I have to burn a copy for cori-chan...

Granted, I don't know when I'll be able to drop it off at the Post Office: it's a madhouse at this time of the year...

update tmpgenc dvd author 3.

One major drawback which everyone on the tmpgenc forums is complaining about.

Because you can feed in multiple formats and end up with a DVD, the software naturally has to go through a time consuming rendering process.
That's to be expected with AVI or WMV input. But if you feed in an mpg II file and do any kind of cutting in the file, the software still goes through the entire rendering process. I entered one episode in my old tmpgenc dvd author did a little manipulation and got a finished product in about 20 minutes. Did the same gyrations in the new version and it took over an hour. I'm sure there will be a patch for this soon as their are too many complaints.

Crap. I just finished authoring another disc and it was PERFECT!! Except for my altering the subs, which caused some longer sentences to be double-spaced. It really bother me so I'm going to redo it again. This'll teach me not to mess with subs unless it's a typo. :grumble:

LOL.

One of these days/weeks/months/years/decades you guys will realize that, though convoluted, my VirtualDub>TMPGEnc>TMPGEncDVDAuthor route is the best, most reliable, and the least frustrating. ;)

I'm still stubborn. :beaten: But this time it was due to my dumbassery that screwed this particular one up. :banghead:

You mean 2 lines of a sub sentence? That is normal. You see it all the time if that is what you mean. :shakehead:

No. I mean double-spaced. Like a blank space between

lines. Like how I'm doing here. It's really annoying and

very distracting. :(

And the reason why I did hit the "enter" button when the lines of the subs got too long is because the older version of ConvertXtoDVD didn't automatically break the lines in half, resulting in the beginning and end of sentences being cut off. With the new version that I got, it breaks the line in half for you and I didn't know it did that. Well, I guess I'm learning as I go along.

If the new version does break up the line, does it allow you to set the margin width, which allows you to control when to break up the line based on length?

Yes, it does. :) I just followed the example pic that AD posted up a week or so ago. I had totally forgotten about that margin thing and went ahead and did my own altering, which had bad results. :( I think I'm going to have to redo the first disc too. No more editing for me, except for the romanization and a line from the translation of the theme song. (The drama is Watashitachi no Kyokasho, if anyone was curious.)

I remember that you were going to add that to my list, but I had already downloaded a ton of episodes, so I decided to take it off my list.

Ah.... trial and error... you'll get there eventually, cori-chan :)

Sounds more like Error and Error. :beaten:

Ahh, finally finished hardsubbing Yakusha Damashii...

Encoding time. :victory:

Itai, encoding the hardsubbed Galileo is becoming a little more difficult than first thought: Seems that there's some odd video-audio synchronization that TMPGEnc is having a problem with...

To work around this problem, I'll have to demux the video and audio, encode the video, then mux the audio back into the video...

Convoluted, but it fixes the problem. :victory:

So far. :fingerscrossed:
