Sounds like maybe one of the files is corrupt somehow...

I wonder if I should try searching for another place to download the files or if I should redownload it from the same place.

Can .iso files be burned on DVDs or just CDs?

There's no way of knowing whether or not that's really the problem...

I know you tried each individually, and 10 and 11, but did you try 9 and 10?

Painful as it may sound, you might have to try all possibilities to get a relatively good idea of which file, if any, is corrupt.

Either one, as long as the total file size doesn't exceed the disc size.

Actually, I think you need to use whatever the original was. If it's a DVD ISO, you'll need to use a DVD. If it's a CD ISO, you'll need to use a CD, even if it will fit on a DVD.

I don't think that I tried 9 and 10 yet. I'm at the point that I'm just irritated by the whole thing and want to hardsub the files myself and hopefully that'll fix the problem. Is this quite hard to do?

Nope.

And a lot more reliable, I'll bet.

Do you recommend any programs? And how time-consuming is it?

I use VirtualDub and VOBSub... It's about one hour per 45-minute episode on my PC...

It should be quicker on any of the new dual/quad core processors.

Damn. I wish I had brought my external HD to work today. I was considering it, but changed my mind at the last moment.

And don't tease me with the faster computer talk. :usuck: :hehe:

Then don't ask or complain how much time it takes... :P

Aw, you're just being mean. :puppydog: I did ask how long it took, but I didn't complain about it when I found out.

Ah yea, that's what I read when I looked it up. The only prob is, I don't know what the original was. I downloaded the .iso file of Grave of the Fireflies Anime movie, which doesn't seem to be available anywhere in any other format. It's 6.62 GB...

I went out and bought Verb DVDs that can hold 8GB, but it wouldn't burn. When I put in a CD to test, it WOULD burn, only I don't have large enough CDs. Poo.

That's weird, Wyn-chan.

i think you can get a program that identifies what the contents of an .iso are... check videohelp.com

O! It has a few tools I can use to extract files and folders from the image file. Hmmmm I wonder if it's worthwhile to try it out.

Use DVDShrink: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Shrink

It'll allow to to squeeze a >4.4GB DVD into a regular single-layer DVD with virtually no apparent degradation in video quality. :victory:
