Okay.. after doing a ton of research, I finally figured out then one I think it is:

Saint-Saens - The Carnival of the Animals - Aquarium

I have the track on my computer.. but here's a you tube clip that features it:

I remembered that the song was in an old Ren and Stimpy episode, so I cross referenced the sources and started narrowing down :) An hour and something later... here you are.

So this is what the poster was looking for...

phlargo wrote:I still get kinda pissy that drama directors abuse relationships to make the story seem more tense. It's always when the other person is specifically sad that the cell phone doesn't go through... or when the misunderstanding is taken in the worst way. I mean - it's an effective rhetorical technique.. but it really needs to be used more sparingly.

Maybe I'm the strange one - looking for Dramas to be realistic rather than canned emotional rollercoasters. But, even if the caricature style is more accessible, I think the subtle, realistic emotional response is, in the end, a more effective tool: audiences react to intrinsically emotionally charged situations rather than manufactured ones carefully crafted to get maximum return up front.

I guess what I'm saying is that I appreciate a director who gives you the sensation, but doesn't hand it to you on a platter - you have to feel it. And, as much as I love the series, I still think it suffers too much from hand-holding us on our journey.

Yeah, the love/hate/romantic tension between the two gets played almost too often, but that's one of the plot points, ne?

Internally, Chiaki's battling with his priority to succeed and perfect his skill and his love of Nodame... And vice versa for her.

I suppose if you watched something over and over again, you start to dissect things and find flaws... I either haven't reached that point yet or have just cast those thoughts aside...

I was actually expecting that the SPs address the fact that Chiaki needed to get back with Viera, but evidently that went the way of the tickle-fest and the tour with Stresemann. The series itself started out with Chiaki's remembrance of his time with Viera, so I'm not sure why it didn't get back there in some roundabout fashion. Should I be reading the manga in this regard?

Let's talk about the famous Hentai Forest that Chiaki finally commits to.

Is it a euphamism for sex? Or commitment? Is it an acceptance of Chiaki's feelings? Is it the acceptance that in order to become closer to Nodame, Chiaki must start watching Puri Goriota and take formal classes in "Nodame Mouth"?

I'd like to hear your thoughts. Bonus points for tying it into Chiaki's personal adventure in the 'Game of Life' sequence or how it pertains to the special drawing Chiaki does for Nodame in the final scene.

Chiaki's basically accepted that fact he willing to enter (and live in) Nodame's peculiar/odd/hentai world... His commitment to (and love) for her. :victory:

Okay, you win thtl - here's your five bucks ;-) Hehe... I had a lot of fun trying to figure out that song - it was one I remember knowing as a child, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out who it was or where it was from.

I remembered it was from a classical compilation CD I really liked that my dad bought me when I was like 6. It's funny - he and I are very different - I'm such a purist, I could never buy a compilation CD - I would only get one entire recording or a compilation of one composer. But not him, he always liked his favorites of things and it had nothing to do with learning or be exposed to something new (though he liked to do that too.. just in other ways)
