Talk About Work Thread

Rumors, rumors, rumors. They have 2 call centers here. The one I work at in Monterey Park and another one in Dublin (California, not Ireland). Anyway, the rumor is, they're going shut down our call center and people here will have the choice of moving to Dublin or taking some severance package. As they say in doramas: "to be continued, , , "

Could be worse. The other one could be in Mumbai ;)

O yikes. Hopefully it IS just rumours. If not, then you have even more incentive to move to Canada.

This customer call in, they have their DSL in a bar, probably for credit card transactions and such. The first thing the customer says is, "The guy that came in to work on the juke box couldn't fix it!" :shakehead:

There's this girl at my work who really bugged me when we worked together over the weekend. Well, she is actually nearly 30 but is extremely immature. She is also very bossy and loud but doesn't seem to realize how she comes off to others. Everyone finds her pretty annoying because although she is a hard worker she does not seem to like to listen to others. I wanted to strangle her... Example-

She is calibrating the grind of the espresso so that it brews within 20-25 seconds, and grumbling about it.

Me- If it comes to 19 or 26, don't have to worr--- CUT OFF
Her- Oh no, I always get it exactly right! Just takes some time. I do know that it doesn't matter if it's off by a second like 19 or 26.

... THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I JUST SAID!!! She interrupts me and dismisses what I tell her, only to say the exact same thing. I'm your supervisor, not the other way around!

Two participants didn't turn up today. Grrr! The first one had "problems" and couldn't come. He probably overslept. And the other one couldn't come because it was raining and he didn't have right shoes...

I wish the warehouse I work had a A/C unit, I'll be more productive instead feeling like being dragged down of heat exhaustion and drenched in sweat.

The slowing economy is kicking my @$$ at work. Sales are slumping, and I'm not getting paid due to the lack of sales.

Haha could be, but not it's not, I work as a research assistant.

And by the way, one of the participants that didn't come yesterday and was supposed to come today instead, didn't come - again! Grr!!! :beatyou:
