Haven't tried any of the show's recipes myself... It's easier just to go out.

Yeah, I cook, but not anything Japanese aside from ramen... Japanese food always tastes better when you go out. :D

Any food tastes good when you dont have to cook it. But then again it's much more enjoyable if you cook it yourself. You get to eat the product of your tedious work (if you know how to cook). Ramen huh? Ive cooked some but not very good ramen. Im not Japanese and never grew up around them so I never picked up how to cook that particular cuisine. :shamefulcry:

I'm a vegetarian so most of the stuff that I try to make from that show or anywhere else usually has to have a substitute like soy products from morning star. my parents are mexican so I can't really ask them to help me with the japanese cooking  If you do any international traveling and you happen to go 2 mexico you'll be surprised how many mexicans can cook japanese food. Especially in the state of guerrero. Plus you get all the cold beer you can handle   :woot: If you ever go you will definately enjoy the japanese food there, though it's not like japanese food in japan might be Im assuming, but its very good. Then again one would go to mexico for mexican culture and cuisine and japan for japanese culture and cuisine. But it's nice being able to taste the different ways people make a certain type of food from another country in another.(Hope i didn't confuse you there). :)

I guess you haven't been to McDonald's or The Olive Garden... :bleh:

Dude McDonalds is freakin sick. :bleh: Ive had friends who worked there and from what they tell me you are bound to get some sort of illness if you eat what they serve you there. Personally Ive never liked McDonalds. tasted it once and never had it again. You know what's stupid about one of the Olive Garden's t.v. commercial? I dunno if you've seen it but it's about an italian family celebrating the arrival of a grandparent from italy to the U.S. So the whole family goes out to dinner with the grandparent to the Olive Garden. Do you see how stupid that commercial is? How are they gonna take the Grandparent out to eat some americanized version of italian food when he just probably ate the most athentic italian dinner the night before his arrival!!?? I luv that commercial though it's a trip.

I'm sure other places are similar, but I just won't step into those two "restaurants." :bleh:

So you don't go for fast "food" huh? I don't either it's too hard to find a vegetarian restraunt so I don't even try. Im not trying to make u or anybody become a veggie, but If you ever get a chance to read the book by Howard F. Lyman, Madcowboy:The Plain Truth From the Cattle Rancher who Wont Eat Meat you'll wanna barf your guts out. it's disgusting!!! :bleh: But on another subject, I heard... or read somewhere that Japan is destined to be the next world power, but others think it will be China (the Sleeping Dragon) who will take over. Try giving me an unbiased opinion. Personally I say Japan but what do you think?

This is sorta off topic, maybe more for the food thread in General Discussion, but I know what you mean: I've seen those animal cruelty videos showing how they raise and slaughter animals for food... Sobering to say the least.

Oh, I do go to fast food places, but not McD's. I swore off that place after graduating.

If you haven't seen it, yet, Super Size Me is worth watching. Premise is that the filmmaker goes on an 100% McDiet for a month and has several doctors monitor what happens to him. Interspersed with that personal footage are segments about the food the government sends to schools to feed kids, fast food commercials, lobbyists, and so forth.

Tonites Menu:

Vongole Rosso vs Salmon Cream Pasta.

Im going with the salmon cause I love fish and the cream sauce... :woot:
8 May 2005, 11:17 #453
I'm also leaning toward the salmon at the moment, but things could change.
8 May 2005, 11:41 #454
I must admit, those clams do look tastey... they should combine the two... its hard to pick between to seafood items. :nut:

The Winner Is....

Vongole Rooso 5-2...

Ahh, it was a fair fight. Hey, was that younger girl that new girl in morning musume?
8 May 2005, 12:03 #456
At first I was all for the cream sauce, but near the end I really wanted the clams and tomato sauce.
8 May 2005, 12:46 #457
