So there. :P :P :P :P :P

Yes, but all the dramas that you mentioned here were good, if not, great dramas. However, from reading comments in the SP threads, it wasn't that well received, which made me curious as to why you're taking the time to hardsub it and author it to DVD if your favorites weren't in it.

There are few great dramas to begin with... And I thought SP looked interesting, despite the comments in that thread which were mostly anal remarks about the police procedures and guns used...

Besides, I went through the trouble of hardsubbing and authoring Kirakira Kenshui and that was a disaster of a drama.

Encoding SP, Episode 3.

Editing the subs for Mop Girl, Episodes 1-5.

I saw those comments and they did seem a bit too anal. Hope you let us know if the series is good because I agree that it seems like a good one, but I'm reluctant to waste my time on it without getting a normal person's opinion.

Oi, was that a waste of time or what?

On topic: Authored Maou to DVD and I'm really bothered by the way some of the long subtitled lines are all bunched up so they fit the screen, so I may just have to alter them so they fit better. :grumble:

But Mop Girl already has subs for these episodes. O! Unless you're trying to make the entire series unified since you and geez are subbing the rest. In that case, props to you! :glomp:

It's less about unification and more about removing self-indulgent fluff like this:

M
Mo
Mop
Mop G
Mop Gi
Mop Gir
Mop Girl
Mop Girl E
Mop Girl Ep
Mop Girl Epi
Mop Girl Epis
Mop Girl Episo
Mop Girl Episod
Mop Girl Episode
Mop Girl Episode 1

And yet some subbers get upset about complaints and about people editing their subs. I know it's a touchy subject, and people do it for love not money, but if they are going to do stuff like that (and fan-girly comments) they should expect complaints :grumble:

I've just finished authoring Haken no Hinkaku. I had a LOT of problems with some of the eps because the raws I had, had about 12 seconds of video removed where the credits and advertising are, about 5 minutes in. The subs were great (8thsin was involved) but I had to chop out the subbers credits because they fell exactly where the video was cut :(

I think they do that to leave their trademark/fingerprint on a job, just like the funk fonts and colors.

All the more reason to edit the subs and why I'm more picky about the dramas I watch: I don't wanna have to tweak the subs for every drama under the sun. :bleh:

You obviously didn't use the raws from D-Addicts, ne?

I didn't have any issues like that when I subbed Haken.

Nope. The torrents were dead by then. But i've found a good source now :) I had to re-download 2 eps, and the downloads are fine.

Thanks :)

One of the LJ communities has them uploaded to MU: I just start the download when I leave for work, it's done in a few hours. (~800MB files)

Is there any way to copy a disc even if you keep getting an error saying that there's, well, an error?

What are you copying?

And what (software) are you using to copy the disc with?

I'm copying a DVD that was copied for me. I'm using nero.

Can you try copying the disc using another/different PC?

After that, run DVDInfo ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVDInfoPro ) to identify any possible bad sectors on the disc...

Or you can run ISObuster ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ISOBuster ) and extract the ISO file and burn a new copy of the disc... ISObuster will identify the errors, try to correct them and/or overwrite the errors with known data so that the disc will be readable (though you might see a slight glitch in the video depending on how bad the error is...

O! Thanks so much!

I'm going to try and copy the disc on my mac first, and if that doesn't work, then I'll try ISObuster. :victory:
