I think it's just technology's hate for me. Either that or I'm too ditzy to use technology.

Trust me, compared to a lot of people, you're the Japanese/Hawaiian female Bill Gates ;)

Oh my. That's a frightening thought.

On topic: Had to redo a disc because it went to the menu instead of the next episode. Yes, I'm anal when it comes to DVD authoring. Unfortunately, I only checked this disc of the whole series, so if the other ones are like this, I'm going to either pull out my hair or live with it. This has been too much of a grueling process and I'm glad it's almost over. For now...

Oh! I always make them to go back to the menu  I prefer it that way.

I don't. I prefer to be able to watch one episode after another because it's too much of a hassle to press buttons in order to go to the next episode.

I very rarely watch more than one episode at a time. Except Churasan, because they are so short :)

Ah, I see. That makes sense now. For someone who watches one episode after another, I prefer the other way.

And now my disc redo is done. Time to check it out. :fingerscrossed:

ETA: YES!! It's good now. All I need to do is make a final copy and I'm done with this disc. Only one more to go.

sadacori wrote:I have a question regarding MPEG Video Wizard:

Why is it that when I edit everything exactly how I want it to be, the finished product cuts off a few tenths of a second from the end? This is quite annoying because I don't wish to have it cut off before it says "to be continued." I know I can just try to add more space at the end so if it cuts off, it'll cut off footage that I don't need, but that's just too bothersome and I don't know exactly how much it will cut off at the end. Any help would be appreciated.

Ehh?

I've never had that problem... How are you editing the videos, er, what's your procedure?

When I edit videos:

1. Load video in the Input Window
2. Mark my start point
3. Mark my end point
4. Add the cut section to the Timeline
5. Repeat 2-4 until done
6. Export/Save the video on the Timeline to a location on my HDD

I'm doing the same thing that you're doing. I'm not sure if this will help, but here's the pics of what I'm talking about. I wonder what's going on because I'm confused.

This is what I got. The ending is a blank screen that I allowed in just in case the show got cut off. The time is 00:45:57:04. If you need a bigger picture, click the link below:

This is the result. The show got really cut off so it doesn't show the white screen with the "The End" wording without the scene in the background. The time is 00:45:56:29. This is just so weird and I wondering what I'm doing wrong.

Are you marking your start/end points at the right place?

You know you can step through the video frame by frame to makr your points precisely....

Also, you can view the resulting output in the Output window.

I did mark my start and end points at the right place. I also do the frame by frame method to check exactly where I want it to begin and end down to the 10th of a second.

And I do view the beginning and the end in the Output window to make sure the footage is what I want. If I did the editing wrong, it would show up on the Output window, right? Well, when I did watch the Output window, it began and ended where I wanted. It's only after I Export/Save that the result is less than what I want, so I have to add a little more footage at the end because I know that it will cut off.

I don't think that I'm doing anything wrong, but I could be mistaken. This just sounds really confusing and a bit frustrating, but I can adapt, I guess. =T

Well it seems like you're doing everything right...

Unless you want to send me the file, I have no other ideas.

It seems like I'm doing everything right, but I must not be if I'm having this sort of trouble. Even though this is a little frustrating, I'm not going to give up. (There needs to be a "ganbaru!" emoticon!)

And I'm not sure how I'm getting a 3GB file to you via the internet. I'm not sure if you'd even want to download it either.

...Wait. I'm wondering if it's because I'm still using a trial version of that Video Wizard program that it's giving me such a hard time. Maybe I should install the real version.

I can't imagine the trial doing that: I think it's fully functional.

If you really want me to figure it out, send me a copy of the file in the mail. :)

I'm done with the series, but I still want to know if it's me or the program or the recording itself that's the problem. If you don't mind, I might just send you one of the episodes. You're at the same address, right?

Oops, I forgot to send you the cash and the disc, but I will try to soon. ;)

Anyway, another headache of mine (*waits for beem to cringe when he sees who bumped up this topic* :beaten: ):

I'm currently manually editing some softsubs so the lines of the subtitles evenly fits the DVD authoring tool's screen that I'm using, but there has to be some easier way of doing this rather than each line individually, right?

I'm using Subtitle Workshop, but it's hard to figure out how to do exactly what I want, or even how to go about doing it. If someone could explain how to configure the subtitle lines so they look even on the top and the bottom, that would be wonderful. Thanks!

If anyone's confused about exactly what I'm trying to do, I could put up a pic.
