I'm using Verbatims at home ATM, although they are the printables. I've only had 1 coaster sofar :fingerscrossed: out of about 30 discs. They seem to burn great :)

Yup.

From what I've read, the Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs are considered the upper-tier DVDR discs as far as quality and durability are concerned.

I usually use Verbatim discs (and Sony if it's available) because as AD mentioned, less chance of screw-ups and the price is very reasonable.

Hi again,

Can anybody recommend a good (and free) software that converts AVI files to WMV? I'm currently using Windows DVD Maker to burn DVDs and I noticed that with WMVs, it takes just a little over one hour to complete burning, while with AVIs, the progress bar seems to be stuck at 0.0% in like, seven years.

Edit:

I backread a few pages and saw DVD Flick and ConvertXtoDVD. (LOL, Gomen, should've backread first before posting questions) Uh, can someone give me a little info about these two?

Uh, why AVI to WMV?

Have you looked through Videohelp.com?

Here's the link for the tools to make that conversion:

I think you're better off using ConvertX2DVD... Each time you make a conversion from one format to another, you lose iamge quality...

What format should a video be in to play through ITunes? I have two music videos I downloaded and I want to put it on my IPod but they are in .avi. How do I convert it to the correct format.

Try Super Video Converter:

Apparently works very well :)

I got bored yesterday and tried converting some .avi files to DVD with Convertxtodvd. With my crappy 128 RAM, 30gb computer. 4 episodes and 6-7 hours of waiting...and it actually WORKED! :victory: The only thing that I'm not happy with is the default background pic (tried putting a nifty pic of the drama in the background, but it didn't work).

Now to figure out if I want to waste my time doing the rest of the drama...

Instead of that new camera, you shoulda bought a new PC. :beaten:

That's the problem with those all-in-one programs: they're buggy.

Yeah, I should've bought a new PC, but I really wanted a digital camera. Even though I hardly take pics. Maybe I'll buy a PC the next time I feel like spending a lot of money. :beaten:

Like me and just about everyone else, buying what you want, not what you need... :beaten:

:hehe: Despite what beem thinks, that progie is actually pretty good for authoring DVD's. I usually get it set up and let it do it's stuff overnight. With my comp it takes 2-3 hours for the whole process :P

That's because I'm Type A. :beaten:

Maybe AA.

I tried to do the converting thing, but it didn't work again! :grumble: I tried burning it twice and got a couple of coasters. I'm wondering if it's really my 2-year old laptop that's outdated. Any hints or suggestions? (Besides getting a new laptop :P )
