 We could just blame it on the fact that I can't type properly, and therefore make it hard for anyone to comprehend what I'm trying to say.

I'm having fun with ConvertXtoDVD today. I'm formatting all my Jmovies to DVD. I love it when my bro works long hours. :hehe:

I just had to mention that I'm done with authoring Galileo. :dancing: It didn't give me too many problems (just has to reburn one disc) so yay for that! I'll work on Shiroi Kyoto (disc 2) tomorrow.

But do you know why you had that one problem?

Not sure at all. It was probably a bad burn because when I tried burning it again, it didn't have that error. All that matters to me is I didn't have to redo that long 2-3 hour process. :victory:

I think the .ssa files have their own properties embedded and they might override any external settings... .srt files are just text, nothing else, allowing the user to control font, size, and color... :victory:

Sou desu. I converted them to .srt and they are perfect.... well, still a bit Engrishy, but at least you can read them :) Onward and upward!

Moral of this tale: Convert .ssa subs to .srt before authoring, if you want to control their appearance :)

That's when you use the grammar and spell checkers in Word. :victory:

Yow, I did a preliminary hardsub of Nodame SP Lesson 1: 3-1/2 hours, 5.6GB....

Looks like the SP will be spread over two discs. :beaten:

Whoa.

Slight correction: I meant that the entire SP will be spread over two discs: Lesson1 and Lesson 2.

Once I do the encode, the 5.6GB Lesson 1 should fit on a single DVD. :fingerscrossed:

Update tempgnc dvd author version 3.

I no longer have the time problem I mentioned earlier. Don't know what switch I selected but now creating an output DVD takes less time than the old tempgnc. I now use this software exclusively for DVD authoring. It is very powerful and has many new options. For instance I'm reauthoring Love Generation which has some slippage between the audio words and the lip movements in many episodes. The new tempgnc allows you to specify readjustment for this distortion. And no increase in time so they are not rerendering the whole thing.

A volume adjusment allows for increase/decrease of same.

Next in the old version if I connect two files in the same episode, there was always a hiccup so you could tell where the connection occured. No longer. An option allows you to specify seamless connections between concatenated files.

AD and Wyn chan you will have trouble trying to find where I connected the video stream from one raw disc to the next in the Kohaku. When you watch it, keep in mind that pieces are concatonated from 10 different rips from TV into the final 4 discs.

A simulation option shows you exactly how the finished product will look and sound so if adjusting lip synching or volume you can switch back and forth. Other options allow you to specify Dolby or PCM output.
