How long were the anime episodes tho?

About 25 mins each.

I think there's a setting where you can alter the number of video files... now that I think of it, I also did a disc of an Ai Otsuka concert that was broken up by song: There was over 20 files, IIRC.

Anime Dad wrote:I'm sure i've done more eps than 4 per disc with ConvertX. As my comp isn't working, I can't be sure how I did it.... Yes, I AM sure. I did about 7 eps of an anime per disc...

Then either cori did something wrong or she has an older version that doesen't support more than four files...

She might have an older version. Didn't she post a screen cap before? I think it was different from the one A-Oyaji and I use... :headscratch:

I hope cori reads these posts.... Looks like we spun our wheels over the weekend. :bleh:

Technically, you can have more than 4 files when using ConvertXtoDVD, but I don't think it will show up on the menu, which is the main reason I wanted to try using another program which shows all 10 episodes on the menu. If ConvertX is able to do this, I wasted poor beem's time and patience with me. :(

No, the setting is for how many items on the menu, I think...

O! There is a way! I think it's under the menu tab. You can tell it how many items you want on the first menu page. I'm recalling from memory tho because I don't have the program open before me. :pout:

That's wack... If you can't see 'em on the menu, how will you know that they're there and to watch 'em...

If that ain't a bug, it should be.

I think what she meant is that you have to click on a "next" that will take you to another "page" of the menu.

So it IS possible to have more than 4 eps on the menu??? I feel like kicking myself. :banghead: No, actually I knew that. I just wanted to chat with beem on MSN. Yeah...that's it.

I guess I'll try to check it out when I'm able to. The good thing to come out of this was that I succeeded (sorta) in using the program that beem suggested and made a fairly decent looking menu, so yay for that.

Thanks again for all your help, beem, and I'm so sorry you wasted all your time on me. :shamefulcry:

I wouldn't have minded having a "next" page if I knew it was possible. I just thought that it only showed 4 episodes and you had to skip to episode 5 after that. I should've messed around with the program more instead of assuming things. :grumble:

It's all good. :victory:

I know for a fact that you can add more than 4 items on the menu. When I burned Eve the Nana anime, I believe I had 10 items. I just remembered!

Oh......!! :bonk:

So apparently ConvertX can only DISPLAY four menu items at a time and you have to go to the next page to see the next four....

Makes sense.

With TMPGEnc DVD Author you can display as many items as you want on the main menu... And have as many chapters within each menu item... :)

That's what I thought, but I remembered that you could set the item amount. I remember having 10 for the anime I authored for Eve.

Mebbe I'll check this one out too! :victory:

Be advised: that program is only for authoring... It doesn't do any conversion...

You need another program to convert the avi files to mpg files... And convert them in a way to fit the number of files you want onto a single DVD.

Converting = changing the type of file

Authoring = ... converting the data to DVD format

Is that right?

Yup.

But the data doesn't really get converted when authoring... It's still mpeg2 video... You're just rearranging things and adding titles, chapters, etc... Like organizing a book before publishing. :)

Testing out another all-in-one software package on PC2: http://download.videohelp.com/dvdforger/

Looks promising... And it seems to have a very flexible menu creation function... :victory:

Here's a ConvertX question: what happens if you made a mistake in your menus or similar.... Do you have to re-run the entire ConvertX process or can you start at the point where authoring begins?

If you had to re-run the entire process (which is hours long), that's gotta suck in a HUGE way...
