Asunaro hakusho [あすなろ白書]
Love it so far [Rating: 10/10]
awesome so far I'll finish this later but I just have to say I feel sorry for Takuya Kimura's character cause he's the only one not in love with Tsutsui Michitaka's character
Atami no Sousakan [熱海の捜査官]
looooove it [Rating: 10/10]
weird as hell but in a good way I love it that's all I can say like nothing else I've ever seen, the closest would be the anime Haiban Renmei which I also love
Attention Please [アテンションン プリース]
I'm apparently in the minority [Rating: 8/10]
I don't think this is the best show ever, not even close, but I don't hate it either I thought it was quite funny and enjoyable
Boku dake no Madonna [僕だけのマドンナ]
Yaaaaaay [Rating: 8/10]
I liked this overall I thought it was longer than need be but good, there were parts where I got bored though, partly because Surumi was the only character I liked but still I give it a solid 7.5 or 8
Boku to Kanojo to Kanojo no Ikiru Michi [僕と彼女と彼女の生きる道]
horrid [Rating: 1/10]
I only watched 1 episode because I hate Kusanagi Tsuyoshi's character I wanted someone to kill him so much, sure the poor kid would be out a dad but she'd be better off, frankly Kusanagi Tsuyoshi annoys me anyway I get agitated just seeing him but this is just unwatchable despite having, Ryo, Koyuki, Osugi Ren, Kaname Jun, Azuma Mikihisa, Yamaguchi Sayaka, and Kohinata Fumiyo all of whom I do like in it
Bokura no yuuki ~miman toushi~ [ぼくらの勇氣 ~未滿都市~]
I'll agree that it's not perfect [Rating: 10/10]
but it's damn close
not perfect but [Rating: 10/10]
it's the most fun I've had watching a Japanese police drama, not to say I don't like them, but this one was fun. Everyone was very good to great especially Yutaka Takenouchi, it's a shame he didn't get more screen time, and Yuki Amami, I had never seen her before but now I'm a big fan. I agree the last two episodes were the best were Yutaka was made out to the vilan was surprising because it didn't make sence if he was the bad guy and he thought she was incapable when he picked her to lead the unit wouldn't he have disposed of her when he found out she was very capable?
Brother Beat [ブラザー☆ビート]
BB [Rating: 8/10]
I liked this show quite a bit it's not as good as say Aoi Tori or 101st Marriage Proposal, but really fun and good. I'm glad that Tatsuya and Chisato stayed in that house I imagine that Riku and Ai's wedding isn't that far off and a few years after that Junpei and Miyuki's a couple years down the road and they all live in the same house. That said the thing keeping this from being a 10 is that they focused on the boring romance of Tatsuya and Chisato instead of what would have been the infanatly more interesting one between Junpei and the pregnant with someone else's child Miyuki.
wonderful [Rating: 10/10]
Haruka Ayase of course gives a great performance and even though I'm less familiar with him so to did Yamada Takayuki. My only complaint is that they didn't get away I wanted them to get away.
Code Blue Season 2 [コード・ブルー 2]
Wonderful now that's how you do a medical drama [Rating: 10/10]
I wish you could give more than a 10 because this was even better than the first season. I also wanted Aizawa and Shiraishi to at least sleep together if not necissarily have a relationship, who knows maybe they did when they got drunk they just don't show it. Also I kind of want Saejima and Fujikawa to get together maybe we'll be blessed with a 3rd season but since that's not likely how about another special or a movie or two that finish of the story and romantic sub sub plots. After watching both seasons I am now a bigger fan of those I was already familiar with and a fan of the ones I wasn't so come on please make a season 3
Code Blue: Doctor Heli Kinkyu Kyumei [コード・ブルー]
very much like [Rating: 10/10]
I liked it a lot very good medical drama. I know a lot of people didn't really like Aragaki Yui's character Shiraishi but she was my favorite
Amazing [Rating: 10/10]
everyone does a very very good job but Karina as Yuzu is wonderful even if she never does anything else like it she can go to her grave being proud of this performance.
Deep Love ~ Ayu No Monogatari [アユの物語]
good for what it is [Rating: 8/10]
it's really really dark and I could not finish it however it does what it sets out to do so I give it an 8 anyway. you know I kind of relate to Ayu except I'm male and don't sell myself but I share her boredom with the world and I wonder if love will save me
Gaikoukan Kuroda Kosaku [外交官・黒田康作]
I wanted to like it [Rating: 6/10]
I love Yuji Oda and Kou Shibasaki and I like Kaho but I find it boring. I give it a 6 because I can see how others might like it.
Gal Cir [ギャルサ]
Duuuuuuuuuuh [Rating: 2/10]
I can't believe how many high scores there are I feel dumber just trying to watch it, I rename it the Adventures of Captain Moron. The beauty and talent of Erika Toda, Yui Aragaki and Mayuko Iwasa does not even come close to saving this steaming pile of crap. I can't believe it would apeal to anyone but the young people who hang out in Shibuya in real life, maybe not even them because surely they can't really be this dumb. the only reason I give this a 2 instead of a 1 is I know how talented Erika Toda, Yui Aragaki and Mayuko Iwasa are so I know they can do better if I was them I'd leave this show off my resume
I totaly disagree with everyone else [Rating: 10/10]
I've only seen 5 episodes waiting for the rest to be subtitled but I love it so far Susumu's character is great and I'm hoping that the mother and her family are taught a lesson by her new secretary at the end
Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー]
I love Honey and Clover as a whole but............ [Rating: 2/10]
the manga is suberb the anime is amazing the movie was great but this drama lacks the heart that all three of those possessed
Haikei, Chichiue-sama [拝啓、父上様]
I love slow slice of life shows [Rating: 10/10]
very good I liked it a lot I, assume that should the story have continued he would have ended up chasing her to Paris and then they would get married when they came back
It's great [Rating: 8/10]
of course I'm not sure it's possible to go wrong when you have, Takuya Kimura, Nene Otsuka, Hiroshi Abe, Takako Matsu, Masanobu Katsumura, Fumiyo Kohinata, Takuzo Kadono, Kiyoshi Kodama, and Yoji Tanaka all in the same cast also some great guests. However I don't think it's anywhere near the best jdrama ever.
Himitsu no Hanazono [ヒミツの花園]
Good but not enough to keep [Rating: 8/10]
I personally disagree with the other reviews is that I like Shaku way more than the rest of the cast, that said the story is o.k. but not the best. and as to predictability, of course it is so is every other story in any medium in any part of the world written in the last 50 or so years
Hotaru no Hikari [ホタルノヒカリ]
I was pleasantly surprised [Rating: 10/10]
I normally watch more serious dramas but I loved this one I laughed out loud almost every episode. I loved the chemistry between Ayase and Fujiki they were perfect and I felt an attraction between them almost from the beginning, on the other hand I never felt Ayase and Kato felt anything at all about each other so the ending earns it a solid 10.
I've only watched the first episode but..... [Rating: 7/10]
I can see where it's going the story isn't too deep and there's not much room for character growth so there probably won't be much however it gets points for portraying women in an industry that doesn't get much respect with dignity if not complete respect also Rosa's portrayal of a strong girl determined to make it gets some points as well her face at the end of episode one is simply perfect, however in an industry based on beauty well she's just pretty Saki Aibu, Reina Asami or Mayuko Iwasa would have been better choices for pure beauty and Anne Suzuki if they just wanted a talented actress, still she doeas a passable job most of the time with occasional flashes of brilliance.
Juunen Saki mo Kimi ni Koishite [10年先も君に恋して]
Great [Rating: 10/10]
best love story since Summer Snow and Long Vacation, not that it's as good as those masterpieces but still a wonderful show and story
Kamisama mou sukoshi dake [神様、もう少しだけ]
pretty damn good [Rating: 8/10]
considering the fact I don't really like Kyoko Fukuda, yes she was good in Kamikaze Girls but every other role I had seen her in until I watched this was basically the same as her role in Kamikaze Girls, but I now have new respect for her. Also poor Isamu he stuck with her the whole time and never got her love. And let me just say ythis in closing Worst. Wedding. Ever.
Kiken na Aneki [危険なアネキ]
I'll write a full review later [Rating: 8/10]
I've only watched the first episode so far but I just have to say she should have killed her bastard of a brother with shards after that lamp broke
Interesting [Rating: 9/10]
Interesting concept lots to think about, but despite strong performances in all the 9 episodes I'm not sure it executes the concept properly, that said I'm not sure how to do it properly either
beautiful and wonderful [Rating: 10/10]
I've only watched three episodes but I love it already, I also see how it wouldn't suite some peoples tastes. Even though I just started I'd say it's kind of like Aoi Tori without Anne Suzuki, the girl does good but she's not Anne, I think I'll write more when I finish especially if the ending is different from what I'm guessing
Oishii puropozu [おいしいプロポーズ]
Fran Drescher attack [Rating: 8/10]
so far I like it Kyoko is good not my favorite performance but still good Koide is passable but it's nothing new still enjoyable though, and that Saeko girl has the most annoying voice on earth therefore making her the most annoying person on earth
Over Time [オーバー・タイム]
Ruined by the ending [Rating: 1/10]
until the last two episodes the score would have been a 10 but Soichiro was a stupid childish baby and Natsuki for some idiotic reason chose to marry the stupid doctor that she doesn't love or even like
Proposal Daisakusen [プロポーズ大作戦]
could have been much better [Rating: 6/10]
if they had picked someone other than Yamashita Tomohisa as the male lead I'd give this a 10 but he can't act he can stand there and look pretty but as I am male that's not enough. Everyone else keeps it from being a much lower score.
Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta [大切なことはすべて君が教えてくれた]
So far so good [Rating: 10/10]
I've only seen episode one but I love it so far Erica Toda is wonderful and that Emi girl this is only the second show other than Gold I've seen her in but she's great too. Also the teachers and parents are the most understanding about teen sex I've seen definatly in Japanese media maybe anywhere so far at least there's still at least 9 episodes to go
Tokyo Love Story [東京ラブストーリー]
I really really wanted to like this but......... [Rating: 1/10]
well I couldn't the shadows in the beginning song give away who he ends up with and after reading reviews to find out if I'm right I discover that while Yuji Oda's character does date Honami's wonderful character for a while he eventually dumps her for a woman who has the personality of a dead goldfish so I could only watch the first two episodes in order to not break my screen out of frustration and anger
WheeeeeHa [Rating: 8/10]
o.k. so there are plot holes all over the place and sometimes the scene changes with no explanation of how or why and the humor is frequently juvenile but that's the point. It's just plain fun and watching the wonderful Hiroshi Abe and Yukie Nakama bicker and pick at each other is a good part of the charm, no wonder this series is so popular.
Trick Season 2 [トリック2]
bah humbug [Rating: 6/10]
the plots make at least a little more sense, that is the criminals no longer kill themselves for no apparent reason, there are fewer unexplained scene changes and the humor that remains is less juvenile, however they removed much of the heart and soul which was Hiroshi and Yukie's constant bickering
Tsuki no Koibito [月の恋人]
ehhhhhhhhhhh [Rating: 6/10]
I expected better as usual Takuya Kimura ended up with the woman who was perfect for his character everyone did a good job especially Takuya and Ryoko but other than that just meh it kind of sucked
by me [Rating: 8/10]
despite the fact that the plot makes no sense at all Ryoko Shinohara is wonderful at the tough woman roles and so carries the show by herself, also the story is left unfinished I guess the special and movie finish it off
Unubore Deka [うぬぼれ刑事]
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............ [Rating: 6/10]
I'm not really sure about this one it was pretty funny throughout but I think that the fact the end went exactly like I predicted almost word for word drags the whole show down hence the slightly above average rating. Even the excellent cast especially the guests such as the wonderful Yu Aoi, Erica Toda and Koyuki can't keep the formula from dragging it down. Would have made a much better movie or shorter series, if they make a second season I hope they set it 5 or 10 years later when Rie is out of prison because I really like her interactions with Unubore-san.
Yankee-kun to Megane-chan [ヤンキー君とメガネちゃん]
I'm not sure why I liked this [Rating: 8/10]
I watched the first episode not expecting to like it but I did, it kind of reminds me of Gokusen.
Yasuko to Kenji [ヤスコとケンジ]
Dumb as shit but [Rating: 10/10]
still manages to be funny mostly because of the very lovely and extremely talented Ryoko Hirouse
