Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!]
awesome movie quality drama. I watched this drama as if it were a daylong movie. I'm still blown away with the same blown away given to me by Love Generation and Yamato Nadeshiko.
Love generation [ラブジェネレーション]
Let's see, this drama is 12 episodes long at 1 hour each. So therefore I'd be able to watch this entire drama 2 whole times per day!

Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
Although this was a drama that i saw long ago, it will always be memorable. I like to cry, really i do.
Bijo ka Yajuu [美女か野獣]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
I don't care what any of you say, I really liked this drama. Maybe it's the hype from just finishing it minutes ago, but still. In my past dozen dramas or so, I've learned that you can't always expect the love connection in a non-love drama. This one is one such example. Next time I feel like a love drama, I wouldn't mind poppin in Yamato Nadeshiko or Love Generation, but this one was just great too even if that one end scene was pretty fake (you know what I'm talking about if you just finished this). Coming from another news drama (News no Onna), I now find the news in Tokyo exciting. How funny would it be if it were to be the same old boring news that we get here in So Cal. Yes, how funny.

The theme song to this drama is just so catchy. It would be one that will stick on me for a while. I'll remember this drama as one directed with good taste. The story line may lack sometimes, but like any other drama, you'll need to stick to the end to find maybe a happy ending.
Dekichatta Kekkon [できちゃった結婚]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 9/10]
Crap, I forgot to review this after I watched it, and now I've already finished another drama. I'd like to give this drama more of a 9½ because the style that this drama was filmed was sugoi sugoi. It was memorable and helped me see some aspects of people that are difficult to contemplate at first eg. a prying dad, an unstable pregnant woman. This drama could potentially make you cry, because the characters would just touch your heart in the things that they would do (not like I did though!). This drama is also great because when things happen even the viewer wouldn't be able to decide what's right and what's better. It's like you just have no answer to the problems and it bends your mind and you wanna see what's really gonna happen next. Touching moments.
Densha Otoko [電車男]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 8/10]
Jdramas generally don't focus so much into the other huge cultural icon of anime, so that makes this a unique drama from the get-go especially for anime fans. When my friends recommended this drama to me, I was like 'what the hell, train man?' It turns out to actually be a watchable drama with not only a unique theme, but a unique art direction with the web forums and blogging. You'll have to watch it to know what I'm talking about. You won't be disappointed, but you'll probably be annoyed by the whiney-ness.
Fighting Girl [ファイティングガール]

I like Kyoko Fukada, but I liked Ami more! Korean girls that speak Japanese is a hella turn on. Oh...the drama...well. watch it for Ami and buy Aniyo clothes
Food fight [フードファイト]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 7/10]
This jdrama was very unique to me because to me it was a new concept, and the food that they used in the contests looked yummy. As for the drama quality itself I felt that when doing a drama about a food contests that this drama was put together pretty well with a central storyline which was pursued through the 11 episodes. The drama may become stagnant sometimes because of the similar structures of each episode, but it was still fun to watch regardless.

while most dramas are fueled by my passion to finish them, i feel as though I've already ran out of gas and phoned AAA. I was bored so bored from the mushiness. This drama actually scored a 3 from me, but was +3 from my gf consistently saying how hot that guy was.
Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
amazing and I'm blown away by the theatrical quality of this drama. I'm moved with inspiration from the soundtrack, acting chemistry, and directorship of this drama. It's been a while since I've found a favorite. Shibasaki's acting was was great and I feel very convinced about her hidden sorrows from just watching her facial expressions. Kimu is great as usual. Tsutsumi is also great in his straight and sharp appearance. I could not put this down and now I have to eat and go potty. I wished to hold my potty longer than 10 eps, so I guess I'll start from the beginning all over again.
GTO [麻辣教師]

Sniff...my first drama. How touching. This was my gateway to jdrama. If you lack jdrama friends show them this one.
Hero
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 9/10]
Maybe it's cuz I'm mostly a fan of love stories which keeps me from giving this a 10. Well, what attracted me to this drama was the KimuTaku/Matsu connection. That duet is unbeatable and with great supporting characters like Hiroshi, this drama really deserves a 10, but it's not really a love story....gosh, why not!
Hotman [ホットマン]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
Dam, i could not put this one down. I just kept on watching. I'd like to call this drama GTO from the back end. You take Onizuka sensei, milk of him of all the unorthodox methods of GTO (this is not a school drama however), and add in his cute kid with no mama. Good family drama even though it's not truely your normal family. You could feel the warmth of the family often and it's nice to see people always doing their best.
Hyakunen no monogatari [百年の物語]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 8/10]
While this drama was pretty short compared to others, the story developed and overlapped well. It was enjoyable to watch this drama and learn more about Japanese history and culture of the past. None of the dramas I've seen have dealt with this time period. One thing's for sure, this is not your ordinary drama. One of the stories however lagged from the rest which brings this down to I would say 8.
Kimi ga oshietekureta koto [君が教えてくれたこと]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 8/10]
Good one, really good acting on Rie's end. She totally convinced me just like in I Am Sam. Story got kinda outrageous, but oh well. I didn't get the lasting feeling like I usually do after I watch a jdrama, but still, From the Heart was still pretty good.
Koishite Shinitai [恋して死にたい]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 9/10]
I was fairly new to the jdrama world when I watched this. I felt as though there could have been alot of things done about Kyoko Fukada's character, maybe less endless meaningless devotion, but well, maybe that's good. I liked this, but that annoying voice keeps ringing in my head ~~TOKIEDA YUUJI!~~~!
Kou kou kyoushi [高校教師]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 6/10]
OK, you think it's a normal story, high school girls, high school girl crush on teacher drama, nothing new right? Well, imagine this one a step ahead of that. Predictability is how I judge dramas nowadays. After a haitus of over 2 or 3 years of not reviewing any, this one is a somewhat bitter welcome back into the world of jdrama. Strong points go towards those few moments where the drama leaves you hanging and wanting to know what happens and what happened. Sadly, it is mostly these plot points that keep you glued to the story and they conveniently happened mostly at episodes' end. I cannot refute the point that I stayed up late just to find out what happens next, however, maybe a few feelgood moments couldn't hurt and give me brighter dreams maybe. Dark, dark, dark. I'll watch the 2003 version, maybe the world would be a better place by then.
Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Watch this with your gf! .....errr.....yah! [Rating: 8/10]
While picking up this drama I was humming "KimuTaku/Matsu", but that's not what this one's about. In fact, I really really really dislike Matsu's character. Yutaka made a good playboy in this one cuz well, he looks like one. I did enjoy this drama. But one thing that I disliked was the hype. Thank you friends.
Love generation [ラブジェネレーション]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
I was thinking to myself that there was no other drama which I repeated multiple times in a 24 hour period other than Yamato Nadeshiko. WRONG! This one was also one that I really liked and couldn't get enough of even after watching it over and over and over again. The story is awesome, and it comes together so nicely to the end. Although I've forgotten alot about what happened in this drama, I'll never forget the impact that it had on my emotions.
News no onna [ニュースの女]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 9/10]
I liked this one alot. I just wish I hadn't watched it in a two year period. However even for two years I was still kept interested in this jdrama. I liked the news aspect of it. It kinda carries over the same feeling now that I'm watching Beauty or Beast which is also about news.
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
This drama was a fresh breath of air from my usual hiatus of jdramalessness. Character development was a given for Nobuko, however Shuji and Akira grew as well on their own paths. The storyline does not stray too far from its linear path of producing Nobuko, so none of your useless filler. Every episode you can look forward to learning a bit more about the characters you learn to love. There is the exception of Mariko who, as a supporting but vital role, did not receive the same concentration as the main 3 roles. Aside from that, this drama was easy to watch and will flow from beginning to end.

All in one sitting...this one is like Lay's Guacamole Chips. You don't really want to start eating it, but once you do, you finish the bag. People keep mentioning 7th Heaven but I haven't seen that, but I figure this would be the J-equivalent. It's cute, it's just about right for a jdrama named "Dad". Wow, I feel like i just watched a really long movie. Sleep now. Oyasuminasai!
Pretty Girls [プリティガール]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 7/10]
Ugh, took some time to finish this one. It kept losing me as a fan. But when i think about it, it was very cute and Inamori is good at that. That happy-g0-lucky act gets to you sometimes tho, well, hit and miss all the way to the end.
Ring: Saishusho [リング 最終章]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 7/10]
I continually lost interest in this one. It was like a never ending slower version of the movie (without Matsushima btw..sigh). There was alot of interesting points in this drama though which kept it alive. But when it all boils down to it, the movie does a good job at getting all that accomplished, and more. Scare Factor Movie = 10/10 Scare Factor Drama= 2/10 (+1 for freakiness only)
Shota no sushi [将太の寿司]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 9/10]
This drama was so informative and interesting (totemo omoshiroi). Prior to watching this I would just chomp down on my sushi, but after, upon receipt of my sushi orders I now analyze closely at it (Todai doesn't count!) and wonder all the training that a sushi chef goes through to create the perfect sushi. I will not only appreciate the art of sushi more, I will also make better California rolls after watching this.
Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 8/10]
I started watching this jdrama, but then I suddenly stopped. Something really pissed me off about this one. I forgot what it was, but I won't bother to rewatch it either. I did end up finishing it up though cuz I can't stand to leave dramas open ended. There's alot of back and forth. Maybe that's why I couldn't stand watching it in one sitting. I usually like sentimental stories. While this one was not sentimental, it surely had a catchy theme song
Summer snow
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
Oh my freaking holy cow. When my cousin recommended this to me, I didn't know what to expect but...holy freaking cow. Such a good balance of characters, Tsuyoshi was excellent in this drama. You want sentimental? Your village have a shortage of water? Watch this now.
Tengoku ni ichiban chikai otoko [天国に一番近い男]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 7/10]
I want to give this one a higher rating, but I couldn't just sit and watch it. Maybe it didnt' grab my interest as much with the missions, or maybe it was lacking attention grabbers (poor directoring maybe). It seemed interesting enough to the end. Hm, just thinking about it makes me wanna rewatch it. Or maybe it was me and a sad time in my life when I watched this. Well, I stand by my "7".
Utsukushii hito [美しい人]
Watch with your gf! [Rating: 9/10]
Wow, once I started watching this I couldn't stop. The story just keeps getting better as the drama progresses. The twists may drive you crazy from time to time. The compatibility between Dr. Misaki and Miyuki may also seem shoddy, but man, if I was an middle aged man like that, I wouldn't hold back either for Miyuki.
Wedding Planner [ウエディングプランナー]
Watch this with your gf! .....errr.....yah! [Rating: 8/10]
NOTE: Take precautions when watching this with your gf....drama may introduce new heights to relationships. This drama will not be as memorable as my others, but still it was the best yet in my 2003 summer drama marathon. It's a cute love story, with a goofy male lead, but a fine woman (women) leads. It's cute to the end.
Yamato Nadeshiko [やまとなでしこ【大和撫子】]
Watch this with your gf! [Rating: 10/10]
I've never watched a jdrama so many times in a 24 hour period.
