xxhiroxx's drama votes (8)
Bijo ka Yajuu [
Brother Beat [
Egao no Hosoku [
Touching, funny, sweet, and exciting all at the same time. One can learn much by watching the characters grow and heed the teachings of Okamisan Misako. The actors and actress all did an excellent job in portraying their characters, too.
Engine [
Wonderful drama. It's quite depressing to see how much the orphans have to go through, yet they can still manage to be the sweetest kids ever--which makes it even more depressing. Though... I thought this was supposed to be the story of a racecar driver? How come we don't get to see any real racing till the last episode? Though, having worked with a group of orphans myself for a year. I feel an especially strong connection to this drama.
Good Luck !! [
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1
Orange Days [
This is a definite, absolute, must see. Lots of emotions, and lots of problems and situations that could very well happen to you, or those around you.
Pride [

xxhiroxx's artiste votes (9)
Abe Hiroshi [
A funny guy seemingly perfect for his roles ^_^
Hayami Mokomichi [
Kimura Takuya [
One of the best actors ever!
Matsushima Nanako [
You need a reason for this? Her name is the very reason.
Nakama Yukie [
Love her "Trick" series, also a rather funny actress.
Narimiya Hiroki [
Nogiwa Yoko [
She's a talented actress, and even at this age, never fails to display her beauty and elegance.
Takeuchi Yuko [
Tanaka Misako [

Antique [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
At Home Dad [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Really good. Humor, family, romance, life in general, it's got everything!!
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ]
Rating: 10/10 (Watched)
Bijo ka Yajuu [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Brother Beat [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Busu no Hitomi Koishiteru [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
A rather interesting comedy/romance with a thoughtful moral and message.
Damenzu Walker [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A lighted-heart and romantic comedy for the fall season. Shame that its low ratings got it cut to 8 episodes instead--because the last two episodes felt extremely rushed and inconclusive.
Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A warm and touching family drama.
Densha Otoko [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Excellent drama. Full of humorous and touching moments. Though the ending doesn't really satisfy and live up to the expectation built up by the rest of the drama.
Dragon Zakura [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Egao no Hosoku [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Awesome drama. Hilarious, touching, sweet, and exciting all at the same time. Abe Hiroshi, Takeuchi Yuko, and Nogiwa Yuko did an awesome job in portraying their characters!

Enka no Joou [
Rating: 1/10 (Watched)
Unbelievable dull.
Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta! [
Rating: 7/10
A light-hearted family comedy. Could be repetitive at times. But generally interesting.
Fushin no toki [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Excellent drama!! It's a pity that interesting dramas like these are often overshadowed by dramas sporting popular teen idols. Despite the maturity in the subject, the drama features an engaging and interesting storyline of affairs and deceit--cliffhangers and plot twists further mystifies the truth behind the story. Both lead actresses, Yonekura and Matsushita, provide spectacular and believable acting--the rest of the cast isn't so bad either.
Gokusen [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Gokusen Season 2 [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Good Luck !! [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Haken no Hinkaku [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Hana Yori Dango [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Though it's too short, it's better than the Chinese version (which dragged on way too long). Don't like Matsumoto's portrayal of Doumyouji, but Oguri Shun makes a sexy Rui. Matsushima Nanako is so pretty, and Sada Mayumi is so hot <3. Overall though, it's not a bad watch.
Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A huge step up from season one.
Hanayome to Papa [
(Bought)
Hanayome wa Yakudoshi! [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A rather interesting watch with a good storyline. One of the better dramas this season.
Hero
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Himitsu no Hanazono [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
A nice, light-hearted romantic comedy.
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
xcellent drama. Definitely a tear-jerking. Full of love, friendship, compassion, and a lot of lesson to learn from. Makes you appreciate many things and is extremely inspiring. Those wanting to have a deeper and more accurate understanding of Aya's story should check out the books that the drama is based on.
Ima Ai ni Yukimasu [
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
The drama version of Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu failed to successfully capture the spirit present in the novel and the movie. While not a bad drama to watch, the many changes and addition makes the show stray from the original story at parts, and the general lack of freshness in the story contributes to its mediocrity. The drama falls short of expectations under the smash success of the movie version of the story.
Iryu [医龍 Team Medical Dragon]
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
While it's got its points of interest, it's too much of a Shiroi Kyotou wannabe--but perhaps more intense and bloody in certain scenes.
Itoshi Kimie [
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
I watched this because someone told me it's supposedly very sad, and will make you cry from start to end. In the end, I didn't shed a single tear (came close to it, but the tear never dropped). So it was a bit disappointing. The story is sort of cliched and predictable, a formula that started out fresh and touching and tear-jerking, but has gotten old and needs new innovations to make it work. Though overall not a bad watch, it wasn't extremely good either. You could let this by and not miss anything significant.
Jodan Janai! [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
A nice, light-hearted romantic comedy.
Karei naru Ichizoku [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
The first episode could be boring and a turnoff, however, momentum builds up throughout the series, making it an overall satisfactory and suspenseful drama.
Kazoku -tsuma fuzai oto no sonzai [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Kekkon Dekinai Otoko [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Not something absolutely brilliant, but still an interesting watch. Kills time.
Kirakira Kenshui [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
An interesting watch. Konishi does an awesome job for her first starring role.
Kodoku no kake [
Rating: 3/10 (Watched)
Storyline is decent, but the way it is presented makes the series unbearable in general.
Kurokawa no techou [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Kurosagi [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji Season 3 [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Liar Game [
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
An interesting drama with decent acting and a nice storyline. However, things are often way too predictable and certain special effects get annoying.
Long vacation [
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
Love generation [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Lunch no Joou [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
The plot is really interesting, makes you really hungry as you watch, and the acting were well-done. But the ending wasn't as expected and seemed that not a lot of work were put into for the ending.
Majo no jouken [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Mukodono 2003 [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Nemureru mori [
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
Nobuta wo Produce [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Not wanting to follow the hype, but this drama really is spectacular and fares well beyond what I had expected. Or perhaps I'm just a sucker for friendship dramas. Yamashita has a interesting role, and Horikita is a really good actress. In the beginning it seems to be completely WTF, but the story builds later one. Parts of the drama could be corny, boring, or pointless, but it all eventually makes up. FTCREII
Nodame Cantabile [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Makes me want to restart my piano again. Who knew a drama about classical music could be so hot-blooded and fervent?
Oishii puropozu [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Yet another food series. Seems like a mix of Lunch no Joou and Antique. But so far, not a bad watch.
Orange Days [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
One of my favorites now that I've seen it. The college setting makes the story interesting and realistic, and the problems that the characters go through really make you think. I have a lot more respect for disabled people and feels really fortunate that I'm born rather healthy. Also learned some sign language ^_^
Pride [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
MAYBE
Proposal Daisakusen [
(Bought)
Regatta [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
The only drama that I look eagerly look forward to this season. Hayami's first leading role doesn't disappoint, and the story is a classic seishun drama.
rinbukyoku [輪舞曲]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
The drama is pretty interesting. Intense and suspenseful. Not a bad watch... that is, if you could get past the absolutely boring and tedious first episode. Plot twisters on crack?
Ruri no shima [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Sailor Fuku to Kikanju [
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
The show was decent, interesting, and engaging all the way up until the last two episodes--when everything seemed so rushed and left a lot of things unexplained and confusing.
Sapuri [
Rating: 3/10 (Watched)
Plotline is cliche, draggy, at-times confusing, and just plain boring. Not even the great cast could save it from being a flop.
Seikei Bijin [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Seito Shokun! [
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
At first glance, it might seem to be a cliche high school drama with a hot-blooded teacher trying to deal with a troublesome class. However, this story offers just a bit more than that to keep it interesting.
sekushii boisu ando robo [セクシーボイスアンドロボ]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
The acting and storyline are both decent, yet the presentation makes it not as engaging.
Shininin no onna bengoshi [7
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
Typical law/detective/investigation series with some interesting cases. The feminist point of view of the series makes it fresh and not as cliche.
Shiroi Kyoto [
Rating: 7/10 (Bought & Watched)
The first part is boring and slow. To be honest, it took me nearly half a year to finish the first part, having stopped for three month in the middle. It was painful and unbearable--and seemingly pointless. Though towards the second part, the story picks up its pace and more interesting developments are made. The ending is overall satisfactory despite the terrible start.
Slow Dance [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
An excellent drama. Complete with romance and comedy. The love relationships gets complicated early on in the first episode, but that's how such an interesting story was able to take place. The acting was done well, also. I do not doubt that Tsumabuki could become (if he isn't yet) the next Kimura. The drama also features an awesome soundtrack, paired with an equally good theme song.
Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Stand UP!!
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
Cute and sweet. Romance and Humor (and Perversion!) all in one. Spells out the way of thought of modern teenagers.
Taiyou no uta [
Rating: 7/10 (Watched)
Sawajiri playing -yet- another sick girl doomed to die makes the drama seem repetitive of Ichi Rittoru right off the bat. Otherwise, the drama is pretty okay.
Teppan Shoujo Akane [
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
The drama started out nice and interesting, but soon got too repetitive for its own good. The same formula for every. single. freaking. episode. made the show a pain to watch half way through the season.
Tiger & Dragon [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go [特急田中3号]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
First few episodes makes the series look like a boring otaku-drama and might turn people off, but luckily the story gets more engaging afterwards, leading up to a sweet and satisfying ending.
Tokyo Tower ~Okan to Boku to, tokidoki, Oton [
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
An extremely touching and warm drama filled with tears and laughter. Everyone needs an Eiko-Mama in their lives, and there is so much to be learned from the optimistic Okan.
Top Caster [
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
An interesting drama with a mix of news reporting and investigations, though falls short of expectation under comparison with Bijo ka Yajuu.
Trick [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Trick Season 2 [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Trick Season 3 [
Rating: 8/10 (Bought & Watched)
Unfair [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Watashitachi no kyokasho [
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
An extremely engaging drama with a spectacular storyline that discusses a current problem in the society as well as the dark side of the education system. Story telling is engaging, with well-placed cliffhangers and plot twisters that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Wedding Planner [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Yakusha Damashii [
Rating: 9/10 (Bought & Watched)
Starts out as an interesting, light-hearted comedy, and ends as a somewhat bittersweet, but heartwarming family drama. Has its laughs and tears. Great casts bring the characters to life.
Yaoh [夜王〜YAOH〜]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
