11 Nin mo Iru! [11人もいる!] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Thoroughly enjoyable drama! I love the characters, I'm especially loving Hoshino Gen as Uncle Hiroyuki and Kato Seishiro as Saigo. They're both such fun characters. I'm a bit disappointed with myself because I was unable to be an extra in the final episode T^T I had the chance but I had a test the day of filming T^T | 13-sai no Hello Work [13歳のハローワーク] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Nice to see Matsuoka again. I've only seen him in Psychometrer Eiji (1&2) and Kaibutsu-kun....And I liked seeing Yokoyama Yu too!
Overall fun drama, though a little boring at some points. I really must say the last episode was awesome! | 35-sai no Koukousei [35歳の高校生] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I enjoyed this drama but I think it could have been a little bit better. Some of the acting was a bit off, but overall it was really enjoyable. I love the idea of an older person being thrown back into that high school atmosphere. Of course I loved Tsuchiya Masamitsu (Suda Masaki) in his role of a bully. It was nice seeing him in a slightly different type of role. He'd been the class clown type role before, but not so much of a bully. I really enjoyed the last few episodes with his reactions with Baba Ayako (Yonekura Ryoko). |
Ace wo Nerae! [エースをねらえ!]
| Akihabara@DEEP [アキハバラ@DEEP] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Absolutely amazing drama! The characters in it are so lovable. Kazama Shunsuke was great as Page. Totally adorable. | Akumu-chan [悪夢ちゃん] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I was a bit worried that this drama would be terrible when I first heard what it was about, but upon watching it I was rather pleased. Kitagawa Keiko's performance was really good. The comic relief in this drama was also perfect. I must say I was extremely happy with "Happy Boy" Okada Keisuke actually getting a "WAOOOO" in. Kimura Manatsu is a very promising young actress. Unfortunately, not all the child actors in this drama were very good. The ballet dancer girls episode was painful to watch. |
Algernon ni Hanataba o [アルジャーノンに花束を] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I quite enjoyed the book so I decided to check out how the drama is. I have to say, I'm really impressed. Some aspects of the story were cut out and changed but I'm mostly alright with it. Mostly sad with the ending...but still kinda happy. >.> Yusuke Santamaria played Haru/Charlie insanely well.
Just like the book, it's a very emotional story but so insanely good. | Ando Lloyd ` A.I. knows LOVE? ` [安堂ロイド〜A.I. knows LOVE?〜]
| Antique [アンティーク〜西洋骨董洋菓子店] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) What a fun drama. I watched the anime version of this years ago and decided to get the drama and didn't watch it until recently. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the actors did portraying the characters. The acting was pretty good and truly reminded me of the anime. Overall a very funny and interesting drama. I very much enjoyed Shiina Kippei as Tachibana. He's so fantastic with these kind of crazy rich guy roles. |
Aoihonoo [アオイホノオ]
| Apoyan ~ Hashiru Kokusai Kuukou [あぽやん ~ 走る国際空港] Rating: 4/10 (Watched) Not very interesting. Acting was so-so. The characters were rather boring. The plot was ridiculously predictable. I basically only watched the whole thing because of my deep love for Yamamoto Yusuke. | Atashinchi no Danshi [アタシんちの男子] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I watched it in 2 days! It's completely addicting and super funny!! I really enjoyed the cast~ It was a nice, happy drama <3 |
Bad Boys J Rating: 4/10 (Watched) The fighting looked nice in the first episode but it's gotten worse as the series continued...Honestly, the acting is pretty terrible, sometimes so bad that it's difficult to watch. I'll stand by saying that it's only worth watching if you want Johnny's Entertainment eye candy. | Bambino! [バンビーノ!] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) A really great drama. I throughly enjoyed it. It totally killed me watching it and not having Italian food though. Oda-san was great. And gotta love Sato Ryuta as Katori! It was awesome watching Kitamura Kazuki in this right after watching him as a totally different kind of character in akihabara@DEEP. | Bara no nai Hanaya [薔薇のない花屋]
|
Beautiful life [ビューティフルライフ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Very nice drama. Just by reading a description of it will basically tell you it's going to make you cry. The casting was generally good but I still can't buy into Nishikawa doing anything besides being a flamboyant singer, though I suppose this was an okay role for him. I really enjoyed both Kimura and Tokiwa's perfomances. | Beginners! [ビギナーズ!] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Pretty fun drama! First time watching a drama about police school! I've seen plenty of other schools but not police school. XD
Nice casting with very good chemistry, good acting and plenty of laughs. Not the best out there but still was a good watch.
Oh, and people getting slapped in slow motion. XD <3 | Bitter Blood [ビター・ブラッド]
|
Bloody Monday [ブラッディ・マンデイ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Great drama, amazing cast. I loved it!! Dramas about stuff like hacking and killing off tons of people are really awesome. I'm excited to watch the sequel <3 | Bloody Monday Season 2 [ブラッディ・マンデイ-シーズン2-] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Holy crapppppp~~~Such an intense drama! It was tons of fun, just as enjoyable as season 1!! Great cast, great acting. I loved it~ It kept me going "OMGGGG" the whole way though XD | BOSS Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Really addicting and awesome drama. I'm looking forward to the next season. I'm obviously late in getting there (just finished this April 2013) so at least I don't have as much of a wait as everyone else who watched as it was airing. I really liked the main cast and the episode characters were also really really incredibly good. So many amazing cameos. And also, this role was pretty much perfect for Takenouchi Yutaka. |
BOSS Season 2
| Boys on the Run [ボーイズ・オン・ザ・ラン] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Very funny drama. Overall enjoyable cast with some pretty good acting. I also give hair and make-up props for Tanishi's wigs. They were very realistic.
It was a little bit over the top in the crazy department but it was pretty hilarious XD I nearly died the first episode!! | Brother Beat [ブラザー☆ビート]
|
Buzzer Beat ~ Gakeppuchi no Hero [ブザー・ビート] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) It was a little too girly manga for me....But still an alright watch. I wanted to murder Natsuki (Aibu Saki) for 90% of the drama. It was really nice from the perspective of someone who wants to see hot shirtless guys. YamaPi's boobies are intense. And I honestly quite enjoyed Kaneko Nobuaki's Yoyogi. There was just something about him. Last note: As someone that enjoys the sound of the violin, it was nice with a violinist as a main character. Oh and also on a musical note, a JE lead actor but still using B'z as the theme music?! Amazing! | Celeb to Binbo Taro [セレブと貧乏太郎] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Yeaaaaaaahhh. The first 9 episodes were alright. But it just got stupid after that. It wasn't a terrible drama....but not very good either. It's my first time seeing Kamiji Yusuke acting and he was interesting. I'm not sure if he was interesting in a good way or not though... | CHANGE Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Great drama! I really enjoyed KimuTaku's performance in this. I must say it's one of his best roles. Slightly different than a lot of his other roles. I liked the supporting cast a lot too. I honestly am not horribly interested in politics but this drama was still very good. I think the script was really well written and it was delivered perfectly. |
Cheap Love [チープラブ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I really enjoyed this drama. My second drama based outta Ikebukuro and I loved it! There's a lot of laughs and then there's a tooooon of intense stuff going on. I really enjoyed Sorimachi in this but I must say I really loved Yoshizawa as Ryo! I'd only seen him in more serious roles so it was awesome seeing him so young and crazy in this. | Cinderella wa nemuranai [シンデレラは眠らない]
| Cleopatra na Onnatachi [クレオパトラな女たち] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) As exciting as it is to see Sato Ryuta in such a serious role, I honestly didn't like this drama very much. I think the acting was pretty good but I just didn't really feel too much about the plot line. I really did enjoy Ayano Go though. He's a great actor and I'm planning on checking into his acting a bit more because of this drama. |
Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu [誰よりもままを愛す] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I absolutely love this drama!!! No lie when it says "a heartwarming story." The characters are all so loveable and fun!! I especially love Papa and Pinko-san. Tamura Masakazu's Papa was insanely perfect. I'm also happy to see a semi-realistic portrayal of the life of a cross-dressing homosexual. I think Abe Sadao did a fantastic job as Pinko-san. | Deka Kurokawa Suzuki [デカ黒川鈴木] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Honestly, this drama is just kinda goofy. I only half watched it because it wasn't terribly interesting. Itao was perfect at being Itao though >.>
His "character" didn't seem much different than what they have him doing in the Gaki no Tsukai batsu games. XD | Densetsu no kyoshi [伝説の教師] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Hilarious, fantastic drama! I love Matsumoto Hitoshi and Takenaka Naoto!! Ahahaha~ I really loved the comedy in this and the cast was fantastic! I was quite amused at pre-Water Boys Ishigaki Yuma~ and omg Oshinari Shugo!!
I'm really curious how the other cast members were able to not laugh when listening Matsumoto XD
And yeah. Best final cameos ever. Ever. Ever. Omg |
Densha Otoko [電車男] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Great drama! Really funny and it's a fun look at Japanese otaku. | Detarame Hero [でたらめヒーロー]
on pause | Dinner Rating: 6/10 (Watched) This drama is good at making you really hungry. Story line wise it's rather so-so. The characters are also fairly so-so. The acting was pretty good, just the characters weren't all that interesting. It's an alright drama, but could have been better. |
Dobutsu no Oisha-san [動物のお医者さん]
| Don Quixote [ドン★キホーテ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Truly funny drama. I was a little bit worried it might turn out super terrible but overall I enjoyed it. I think the acting was pretty well done. I really think Shirota is a strange character and I found him completely gross when he was acted by Matsuda Shota. XDDD
Oh and of course, loved Suda Masaki <3 | Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji [ダブルス ~ 二人の刑事] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Overall okay drama. Nothing special and nothing too bad either. You get to see Ito Hideaki and Sakaguchi Kenji mostly naked pretty much every episode. I wish they would have closed off with what had actually happened between Yamashita and Tashiro when they went to school together. |
Dr Koto - Shinryoujo 2006 [Dr.コトー診療所2006] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Honestly, I didn't like it as much as season 1, but still was very fun! Overly enjoyable, so glad they kept the cast from season 1, even the kids! Once again a great performance by Yoshioka~ | Dr. Koto Shinryojo [Dr.コトー診療所] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Absolutely fantastic drama! The characters are very realistic and I really love the actors. Most of them I'd never even heard of. Yoshioka did a fantastic job as Dr. Koto!!! And holy whoa I love Tokito's Hara!! It's a very sweet drama and you'll need a box of tissues for sure. Looking forward to watching season 2 ;D | Dragon Head [ドラゴン ヘッド]
|
Dragon Zakura [ドラゴン桜] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Quite a fantastic drama! I like the premise of sending students from a crappy school to Todai! I'm terrified of the Todai exam though. I really liked the acting and casting. Great watch! | Dream Again [ドリーム☆アゲイン] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) A heartwarming drama with a kind of strange premise. It was pretty good, just a bit frustrating at points. Also kind of emotional. lol | Ekiben Hitoritabi [駅弁ひとり旅]
|
Engine [エンジン] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Interesting drama. First one I've even heard of that has to do with racing. Kimura Takuya does a great job as his typical role of some jerk who is actually a really sweet guy. Lol. The other cast are pretty awesome, like Koyuki, a really young Nakajima Yuto as well as Ishigaki Yuma in a small role <3
And tons of child actors/actresses who honestly, do a pretty good job. | Fire Boys [ファイアーボーイズ 〜め組の大吾〜]
| Freeter, Ie o Kau. [フリーター、家を買う。] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Extremely unrealistic at times, but still a lot of fun. I normally don't like Ninomiya's acting, but I think he did a pretty good job in this. It was also my first experience with Asano Atsuko and I enjoyed her acting. I want to say that the "symptoms" of depression don't seem realistic, moreso a different disorder, though perhaps I'm wrong because I don't have much personal experience with depression of a strong magnitude that isn't already being treated.
Anyway, I really like the construction workers in this show. They were all really lovable and remind me of some of the people I've met that have worked construction here in Japan. |
Fujoshi Deka [腐女子デカ] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Strange little drama. Not great but not terrible. Haha. | Gekiryuu ~ Watashi wo Oboete Imasuka? [激流〜私を憶えていますか?] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) A kind of strange, soap opera-y mystery drama. I really don't know what else to call it. It wasn't bad, but I can't say I really loved it either. It's another one of those strange middle grounds. And also, Tomosaka Rie needs to eat a sandwich or 10. She's too skinny. | Ghost Mama Sousasen [ゴーストママ捜査線] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Pretty cute drama, not my favorite but still really heartwarming. I really enjoyed Sawamura Ikki in it. XD |
Gochisousan [ごちそうさん]
| Going My Home [ゴーイング マイ ホーム] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I must say a very strange drama. Strange but good. All the acting was superb and the bits of comedy tossed in were perfectly timed. It's very difficult to get through that super long first episode, but once you get into episode 2 you start wanting more and more. It was a very nice story.
There's also just something about the way it's filmed that makes it feel different than most dramas. I really enjoyed it. It was a breath of fresh air. | Gokusen [ごくせん] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) A classic 2000s drama that everyone should see. It's your another one of those high school dramas but definitely very good. I think Nakama Yukie was perfect as Yankumi! I think all dramas fans should watch this~ |
Good Luck !! [グッドラック!!] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Pretty nice cast, cool subject matter but not really my cup of tea. As usual I enjoyed Kimura Takuya even though he's pretty much the same guy in every drama. XD
It was also cool seeing 14 or 15 year old Nakao Akiyoshi as his younger brother, Kaname Jun and Takenaka Naoto.
And I also really loved the Korean neighbor. She was hilarious every time. | Great Teacher Onizuka 2012 [グレート ティーチャー オニヅカ] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Oh god so fantastic. I have too many good things to say about this drama. I think I would even be willing to say it's better than the original. That might partly be due to my favorite GTO character actually being there rather than being morphed together with Danma. My Saejima love was increased by being portrayed perfectly by Yamamoto Yusuke. Overall amazing casting, great acting and of course, GREAT story. It is Great Teacher Onizuka afterall. lol | Great Teacher Onizuka 2012 Season 2 [グレート ティーチャー オニヅカ 2]
|
GTO [麻辣教師] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) My first J-drama!! It was so insanely funny!! Must watch for all J-drama fans. It's a classic that everyone needs to check out. | H2~Kimi to itahibi [2〜君といた日々] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Very good sports (baseball) drama! Based off a manga by one of the most famous sports mangaka in Japan. The cast was prett good and the acting was pretty good. Nakao Akiyoshi was awesome in it!!!! | Hachimitsu to Kuroba [ハチミツとクローバー] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) It's a cute drama, I love the comedy in it, but it's just not really my type of drama.
I really did laugh a lot during it from all the stupid goofy things they did. Oh and forever laughing at Matsushige's character. He's amazing! XD |
Haikei, Chichiue-sama [拝啓、父上様] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Really interesting story. I really liked the casting, all the actors did a great job. It was also lovely looking at all the delicious Japanese food. | HAMMER SESSION! [ハンマーセッション!] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Fun story, but it's another one of those school dramas like Gokusen or GTO. I really enjoy those type of shows though, so it's alright~ I liked the casting, though admittedly some of the acting wasn't great. I will always say Suda Masaki did a wonderful job as Yohei!! | Hana Yori Dango [花より男子] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Can't go wrong with a classic. It was a really enjoyable watch and the acting was great. The cast was chosen well in my opinion, though I have only read the first few volumes of the manga. |
Hana Yori Dango Season 2 [花より男子] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Amazing. Simply spectacular. I loved it so much!! Everyone did a great job in it!! | Hanazakari no Kimitachi e [花ざかりの君たちへ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I found this drama to be insanely fun. It's very easy to tell it's based off a manga so if you hate anime/manga it's not for you. I think it was a bit fast paced, but a lot of manga based dramas are. The acting was overall very good and the casting seemed quite good. I really enjoyed Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu. He was hysterical. The other cast was very well done but as mentioned, the characters are very manga-esque. Fun plot, great cast and super funny! Oh and you can see Ishigaki Yuma's glorious man-boobs! | Hanazakari no Kimitachi e 2011 [花ざかりの君たちへ 2011]
|
Hanzawa Naoki [半沢直樹] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Holy monkey balls. This was one impressive watch. The content is a bit difficult to understand sometimes, but Sakai Masato's performance as Hanzawa was mesmerizing. The acting throughout this drama was ridiculously good, especially from the main cast. Kagawa's Ohwada was so easy to hate. It was also cool that it had two parts to it. I also must compliment the soundtrack to it. It's perfect. Ahhhh I just love this. I'll also mention that some of my students (as young as elementary school grade 4) were watching this drama and loving it. That's intense. P.S. The way Kurosaki talks grosses me out super bad. | Hero Rating: 6/10 (Watched) It was interesting but not interesting enough. The casting was so-so, I've seen worse but I've also seen a lot better. It was also kind of strange seeing this side of Abe Hiroshi because the drama I watched just before this was Trick.
Well, if you really love Kimura Takuya it's probably worth watching. | Hidarime Tantei EYE [左目探偵EYE]
|
Hito ni Yasashiku [人にやさしく / 3ピース] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I can't lie, I spent half of this drama thinking "Omg Akira is adorable!!!!!"
It's a really fun, sweet drama! I loved the casting and the characters were so much fun~ It definitely pulls on your heart strings though.
And uhm. Katori's hair is a disaster. lol. | Holyland [ホーリーランド] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Amazing drama!!! I loved it~ I think Ishigaki did a fantastic job as Yuu and I as usual I enjoyed Tokuyama being a cool guy. The action in this drama is excellent. I would marry the choreographer, haha. | Honey Trap [ハニー・トラップ]
|
Hungry! [ハングリー!] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I love the characters, especially Tsuyoshi! He reminds me of someone I know~ Also, awesome choice in music for their theme music....The Bawdies!
This was a really fun, interesting drama. I really must say that I wish that was a real place because I'd definitely be going there every week. Eisuke was a really interesting character and I wish I could see more of him....so here's to hoping for a special!!!! | Ikebukuro West Gate Park [池袋ウエストゲートパーク] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Wow. One the the finest casts ever. I loved it! I personally think every J-drama fan needs to watch this. It's my favorite drama and I'd recommend to everyone! Some comedy, some romance, some violence and tons of awesome. <3 | Iki mo Dekinai Natsu [息もできない夏] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Casting was pretty good, but not entirely my type of drama. A bit too much of an emotional roller coaster. I must say the subject matter was interesting to me. I'd never seen a drama with something similar to the whole "I don't have a family register!!!" before. Man Japanese's register system is crazy. |
Ima Ai ni Yukimasu [いま会いにゆきます]
| JIN [JIN-仁-]
| JIN Season 2
|
Jodan Janai! [冗談じゃない!] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Well...that was ridiculous. I don't really know what to say besides that and I feel bad for Keita. I wanted to smack the Ueno Juri for the majority of the drama. | Juui Dolittle [獣医ドリトル] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I absolutely loved this drama!! Oguri did a great job and I'll always be proud of Suda Masaki!! His first major role in a drama and it was a good one~ | Kagi no Kakatta Heya [鍵のかかった部屋] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Kind of so-so. It was a bit slow paced at times though I really enjoyed the casting and the actors' performances. I quite like Enemoto just being...well Enemoto, lol. It was a really interesting role for Ohno. |
Kaibutsu-kun [怪物くん] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) It was such a cute drama!!! I totally enjoyed it. I loved everyone!! It's a nice fun drama for when you feel like smiling. <3 | Kaito Royale [怪盗ロワイヤル] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) I really liked the first bit but then it kinda fizzled out for me. It still had it's good moments in the later episodes though. I wish the acting was a little bit better but I've seen worse. I think the main cast did alright, it's just the episode characters weren't very good.
It was an interesting idea though.
Oh and it was awesome to see Matsuzaka Tori and Aiba Hiroki together again. <3 Ryunosuke couldn't stay away from his Tono-sama XDD | Karamazov no Kyodai [カラマーゾフの兄弟] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Interesting, but not super incredible. It makes me very curious about the original novel. I enjoyed the acting, but I couldn't tell if the father's character was actually supposed to be that ridiculous by the book, or if he was being over done. Whatever he may be, he was very easy to hate. |
Kasuka na Kanojo [幽かな彼女] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Another so-so school drama. Ridiculous school staff, a teacher that the students come to love and some peculiar extra. That being Kamiyama-sensei being able to see ghosts. Not a terrible drama, but not a wonderful drama either. | Kazoku Game [家族ゲーム] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) One of the best dramas of it's season! I really enjoyed Kazoku Game. The Numata family was really interesting to watch. And of course Sakurai Sho as Yoshimoto/Tago was amazing. I really think everyone did a wonderful job and I was very pleased to see Uragami Seishuu again. | Kazoku no Uta [家族のうた] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Overall interesting drama, I liked the plotline and the characters. The acting was pretty good but damn some of it was unrealistic. |
Keiji no Manazashi [刑事のまなざし]
| Keitai Sosakan Season 7 [ケータイ捜査官7] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Excellent series. It was really fun. It's not all that serious, I mean look at the plot, a walking cell phone. But yeah. I really enjoyed it. Everyone did a good job. <3 Seven is awesome <3 | Kimi ga oshietekureta koto [君が教えてくれたこと]
|
Kimi wa Petto [きみはペット] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) MatsuJun was AMAZING in it. It's sad that Ryuta Sato isn't mentioned in the cast. ;_; | Kisarazu Cat's Eye [木更津キャッツアイ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) So freaking awesome. It's one of my favorites now. I absolutely LOVE episode 7. | Kiyoko Ranman [潔子爛漫]
|
Konna koi no hanashi [こんな恋のはなし] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I quite enjoyed this drama. The cast was well chosen (though I was unfamiliar with most of them) and they did a fantastic job. I'm becoming more of a fan of older human drama series. | Koshonin [交渉人] Rating: 7/10 Whoa, this drama is darker than what I've been watching recently...Overall good casting and a very good drama. | Koukou Nyushi [高校入試] Rating: 4/10 (Watched) Another so-so drama. I understand that the high school entrance exams are crazy difficult and whatnot, but this drama is so ridiculous. It's way too unrealistic. Though I guess maybe that's what they were going for. Anyway, I only watched through the whole thing for Nakao Akiyoshi and Tokuyama Hidenori. |
Kunimitsu no Matsuri [クニミツの政]
| Kurokochi [クロコーチ]
| Kurosagi [クロサギ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Great cast, but a bit slow at points. |
Last Cinderella [ラスト シンデレラ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) It could have gotten rated higher, but anyone who has watched it knows why a drama that could have gotten a 10 didn't. I was really into it until the last few episodes when it just went down hill.
I really enjoyed Fujiki Naoto in this. And the gay bartender was awesome too, haha! | Last Hope [ラストホープ] Rating: 4/10 (Watched) Boring. Extremely boring. Too many flashbacks. The characters weren't very interesting, just super super stereotypical stuff. I could barely pay attention to this drama. | Laundry Rating: 9/10 (Watched) It was a really cute story. One of Yosuke's best performances. |
Legal High [リーガル・ハイ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Quite enjoyable. I found the lead characters very interesting and quite funny. A lot of the vocab was a bit over my head but it was sill fun! I really love Sakai Masato's performance. Absolutely fantastic! | Legal High Season 2 [リーガル・ハイ 2]
| Liar Game [ライアーゲーム] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Fukuyama-san ftw :D |
Long Love Letter [ロング・ラブレター〜漂流教室] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Mind blown. Hahaha. I really really really enjoyed this drama. It started off as one thing and turned into something completely, totally and awesomely different. It made me think a little bit more about my decisions too. | Long vacation [ロングバケーション] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Fantastic drama!! The cast was brilliant!! It ended beautifully. ^__^ | Lucky Seven [ラッキーセブン] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Wow! I really enjoyed this! The choreography is pretty awesome!! Especially Eita and MatsuJun's fighting. The overall story line was cool too. It was a semi-episodic series but connecting the people in the office to the longer episodes.
The acting was pretty good. I must say MatsuJun actually fighting is pretty cool. Every other drama he "fought" in looked really terrible so this one was refreshing. |
Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi [まほろ駅前番外地] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I love everything about this series. The cinematography is fantastic, the music is great and of course, the cast and acting is incredible. The chemistry between Eita and Matsuda Ryuhei is ridiculously good and I really hope I can see them work together again. I think Tada is one of Eita's best roles and I really enjoyed seeing Matsuda for the first time in such a hilarious role. I think he was what made the show 100% perfect. | Makete, Katsu [負けて、勝つ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I'm not a huge fan of historical dramas, but I really liked this one. Watanabe Ken was incredible throughout the whole drama. I honestly don't know much about Japanese history besides the little bits I heard in school and things here and there, but I think this drama made me understand what the Japanese people dealt with after WWII. I recommend this drama to anyone interested in post-WWII Japan. | Maou [魔王] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Absolutely amazing drama. The casting was wonderful!! Ohno did a great job in his first lead role in a drama. Absolutely fantastic. |
Mayonaka no Panya-san [真夜中のパン屋さん] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Not bad, not good. Nothing special. It made me want bread really bad. My favorite was definitely Sophia-san. Oh lawd <3 | Mei-chan no Shitsuji [メイちゃんの執事] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) A kind of strange but really fun drama. I really liked the chemistry between the cast members. It was pretty funny and I really enjoyed Sato Takeru. | Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri [三毛猫ホームズの推理] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) A truly enjoyable drama. It's funny yet gets serious when it needs to. I love the characters and the plot line. And Holmes is freaking adorable!!!!! Well...cat form anyways. XD <3 |
Mirai Nikki ANOTHER:WORLD [未来日記] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Honestly, this drama sounded like it was gonna be really super cool....but I dunno. I just didn't get into it. I liked the casting and the plotline but it was just kind of...I dunno. It was lacking something. Maybe I'd have liked it better if I watched the anime? | Misaki Number One!! [美咲ナンバーワン!!] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Another GTO/Gokusen clone. Not on the bad side, not really on the good side either. I think the acting is okay, but it could be better. There isn't really much to say. I guess it's not a bad drama, but not one that I'd highly recommend. | Miyabe Miyuki Mystery: Perfect Blue [宮部みゆきミステリー「パーフェクト・ブルー] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Overly so-so drama. At least Nakagawa Taishi and Masa were cute. |
Mondai no Aru Restaurant [問題のあるレストラン]
| MONSTERS Rating: 7/10 (Watched) A rather so-so drama. It was made enjoyable by Katori Shingo but overall not horribly interesting. Still got some laughs out of Hiratsuka and Saionji's shenanigans though. | MR. BRAIN Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Absolutely fantastic. The casting was splendid! I really enjoyed Kimura and Mizushima. It was also quite nice to see Tortoise Matsumoto in a drama. He did a pretty good job and I'd love to see him again. |
My Boss, My Hero [マイボスマイヒロ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Hilarious drama! I love the silly yazuka stuff~ Nagase did a wonderful job, unfortunately some of the other cast didn't do so well. Though, this was my first time watching Tanaka Koki and I'm quite interested in seeing more. | My Girl [マイガール] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Alright drama. It was pretty cute, but not my typical type of drama. The acting was so-so. I think Momoka (Koharu) is such a stiff little actress in this. I work at kindergartens in Japan and NONE of the kids talk like her. I didn't read the manga or watch the K-drama version so I don't know if it's just supposed to be her character or whatever....but I don't like it. The original writer must not have children or interact with children if they wrote her like this. Anyway, this drama is probably good for people who love family related dramas or dramas involving children. | Nakuna, Hara-chan [泣くな、はらちゃん] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I have too many wonderful things to say about this drama. I truly enjoyed it. All of the characters were wonderful and were portrayed by great actors. It's one of the sweetest stories I've heard for a while. Hara-chan is a perfect, innocent creature and I love him, hahahahaha. And there's Hiroshi who I want to slap and hug at the same time, hahahaha. It makes me want to shake my manga to make the characters come out. |
Namida o fuite [涙をふいて] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) This drama is a bit more on the serious note compared to the dramas I tend to like but it was extremely good. The cast is great and the acting was pretty good. I really enjoy the advice given by Katsuo throughout the episodes. ^___^
And American Football in Japan reminds me of my study abroad at Daito Bunka University so much, ahahaha.
Lastly, Tortoise Matsumoto <3 | Nankyoku Tairiku ~Kami no Ryouiki ni Idomunda Otoko to Inu no Monogatari~ [南極大陸〜神の領域に挑んだ男と犬の物語〜] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) This drama was absolutely fantastic! The acting was spectacular and I really enjoyed the casting! Also the dogs used in the drama deserve a round of applause. They're extremely well trained dogs and their doggy acting was wonderful.
It's a beautiful story, albeit insanely emotional. Prepare tissues if you're gonna watch this. | Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de [謎解きはディナーのあとで] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) I enjoyed the casting in this drama; particularly Shiina Kippei. I thought he was hilariously bad in a good way. He did a great job of being an overly corny character. I also really loved Sakurai Sho in this. He looks so good in glasses and he was great at being a ridiculous butler. |
Ninkyo Helper [任侠ヘルパー]
| No Con Kid [ノーコン ・ キッド]
| Nobunaga no Chef [信長のシェフ] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Not good, not bad. I dunno. I just didn't get into it very much. I very much enjoyed Oikawa Mitsuhiro's performance as Oda Nobunaga. And I must admit, I liked Shida Mirai in this. But Tamamori Yuta.....I just couldn't get into him. The wardrobe was nice, but then again it had to be as it's a period drama. Anyway, this show just makes me hungry. |
Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) A cute drama about friendship with a bit of romance on the side. I found it to be extremely funny and entertaining. I also really liked the casting! | Nodame Cantabile [のだめ カンタビ−レ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Fantastic drama! I loved the casting and the music~ It's got a great combination of laughs, seriousness and well, just plain awesome! | Oh, My Dad!! [オー・マイダッド!!] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) I had originally thought this drama would end up as complete crap despite the cast. It wasn't the best stuff ever, but definitely not terrible. I enjoyed the characters, despite being horribly unrealistic at points. I must say I don't like seeing young child actors talking with other child actors because they usually sound so completely unnatural. (coming from a person who teaches at kindergartens and nursery schools in Japan). It also reminded me of how shitty it is for fathers in Japan. |
Orange Days [オレンジデイズ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Incredible plot, the main characters were great. I think the casting was rather awesome too. I mean who else to play a man whore but Narimiya. It's got laughs and it brought me to tears, fantastic drama. | Osozaki no Himawari [遅咲きのヒマワリ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) In my opinion this is one of those dramas that it made by the characters. I really enjoyed all the characters (and the actors portraying them). They were all really loveable and fairly realistic. Admittedly some of the drama in this drama was waaaaaaay blow out of proportions, but the characters make up for it. I'd really like to see more of Kiritani Kenta after this. He did a wonderful job as Junichi. And as usual, Ikuta Toma was wonderful. I think he must be one of the best actors out of Johnny's Entertainment.
Also, Jotaro's house in Shimanto looks amazing and I wish I lived there. ;____; And the scenery in this drama was amazing. <3 | Ouran High School Host Club [桜蘭高校ホスト部] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I really enjoyed the anime when I watched it years ago and I was pleased with the drama. A lot of the scenes were insanely similar to the anime which was pretty impressive to me.
The casting was perfect and the acting was pretty good. I loved seeing the Takagis as the twins and I loved Yusuke as Tamaki. He really pulls the rich, prince character off well. Also I think Chiba Yudai as Honey was great. |
Over Time [オーバー・タイム] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) One of Sorimachi's best performances. The characters are all very human and the acting of the entire main cast is splendid. This was my first experience with Makiko and I really love her acting. Overall very nice drama. | Pin to Kona [ぴんとこな]
| PRICELESS ~Aru Wake Nedaro,n namon!~ [PRICELESS ~あるわけねぇだろ,んなもん!~] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Another one of the best dramas of 2012 in my opinion. The characters are wonderful, the comedy is hilarious and it's a really great story. I must admit it's a very stereotypical Kimura Takuya role but he always plays that "guy" so well. I have to admit I think my favorite character was Nakai Kiichi's Moai. He was perfect in his role. I've never seen him in anything before and I hope after this drama he'll be getting more roles.
I'd recommend this to anyone, and especially to KimuTaku fans! |
Pride [プライド] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) The perfect combination of hockey, love and hot men accompanied by a great soundtrack by Queen. <3 | Princess Princess D [プリンセス・プリンセスD] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) The acting was wretched, plot line was ridiculous....But I enjoyed it. I can't lie, I just like seeing those boys act like idiots XD <3
Also...the singing. It kills me XDDDD | Psychometrer eiji 1 Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Rather interesting drama. It was pretty addicting and I ended up finishing it in about 2 days....And I'm about to start season 2 now, haha. The cast was pretty fun and the story was intriguing for anyone interested in light sci-fi. ^__^ |
Psychometrer eiji Season 2 Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Once again I will say, interesting drama. This one is a bit darker than season one but I really like the idea of Shokichi being a gang boss and whatnot. It's sorta got a sci-fi IWGP feel to it and I really like it. I think I might actually like this more than season 1. It's more serious and has less laughs but it's really awesome in my opinion. Once again an awesome cast, most of the main cast from season 1 is back but I really like the supporting characters, including the gang members. ^__^ | QP Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Not the best drama, to be honest it was kind of confusing for me. I still enjoyed it a lot. It has really awesome cinematography and the action shots are incredible.
Also, my face after I realized that Eiji is played by Kubota Masataka (O.O) He's grown up a lot since Keitai Sousakan 7. | RHPlus [RHプラス] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Not the best plot, interesting characters but a bit stereotypical, especially in this type of genre. If you like BL it might be a little disappointing because it's not as BL as it could be....I liked it but it could have been better.
And please....never ever say "Mmm...Bloody" again. |
Rich Man, Poor Woman [リッチマン、プアウーマン] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Probably one of the best dramas of 2012!!!! Absolutely wonderful story, great characters and all backed up with top of the line acting and an overall incredible cast! I definitely recommend everyone to see this drama!! | Rikon Bengoshi [離婚弁護士]
| Rikon Bengoshi Season 2 [離婚弁護士II〜ハンサム ウーマン〜]
|
Risou no Musuko [理想の息子] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) I rather like the main cast of this! They're all pretty funny~ I really like Yamada Ryosuke, even though he kinda grosses me out from being so girly. Fujigaya Taisuke is really hot though. ;D
I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything horribly special. | ROOKIES [ルーキーズ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) One of the best dramas I've seen for a while. I absolutely loved it!! I still have to watch the movie!! ^_____^ | Runaway ~Aisuru Kimi no Tame ni~ [ランナウェイ〜愛する君のために] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) I must say this was the best drama of this season, possibly this year. I absolutely loved the characters. Everyone seemed so real so I must say that the cast did a fantastic job! Ichihara did a fantastic job as Ataru and I must say Kumada Sea did an incredible job of Sakura. She's definitely a very wonderful actress for her age. And of course I must mention my favorite, Suda Masaki. This was his best acting yet. He keeps getting better and better so I'm always thrilled to see him in new dramas. |
Saigo no Yakusoku [最後の約束]
| Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata ~Ending Planner~ [最高の人生の終り方~エンディングプランナー~] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Wow, this drama. It was really unrealistic in the "family" category, but at the same time it was horribly interesting. Overall I really liked this drama. The actors did a great job in their roles. I was also really surprised when freaking Aikawa Sho showed up, lol!
If you're willing to kill off a box of tissues this is a good drama! | Saikou no Rikon [最高の離婚] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I enjoyed the crap out of this drama. The main four cast were absolutely perfect! It was ridiculously entertaining watching the happenings surrounding them. Sometimes it's frustrating to watch, but frustrating in a good way. I don't know how to explain it. I also think everyone has to watch the ending dance at least once. |
Saki ~ Mitsuketa. Anata no Kowashikata. [サキ ~ 見ぃつけた。あなたの壊し方。] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Fairly good watch, though I think some of the acting was a bit dodgy amongst the Sudo family. The Nomura arch of Saki's revenge also creeped me out really really really hardcore. I think this drama is addictive but that doesn't mean that it's really really good. It just makes you wonder what's going to happen next. Also I will say, props to Okada Yoshinori. I really liked his few episode performance. | Samurai High School [サムライ・ハイスクール]
| Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu [世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) It's being rated a bit lower because it's not quite my cup of tea. The drama was good, but very sad and emotional. I liked the casting and the cinematography is pretty good. It's good if you wanna cry your eyes out. |
Share House no Koibito [シェアハウスの恋人] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Absolutely hilarious drama!!! I really really enjoyed the casting, the three share house roommates in particular are perfect. I wish I could live in the share house too. It's an overall very sweet, cute, funny drama and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese dramas. It's strange because it's completely unrealistic, yet somehow very realistic. Tappei LOVE <3 | Shiawase ni Naritai [幸せになりたい]
| Shinigami-kun [死神くん]
|
Shinryochu [心療中] Rating: 5/10 (Watched) Another so-so drama. The idea was interesting but, it just didn't do it for me. I guess part of it is my personal distaste of Inagaki Goro. He just grosses me out for some unknown reason. | Shiroi kage [白い影]
| Slow Dance [スローダンス]
|
Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi [空から降る一億の星] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) All I can really say is "wow." I don't really know what else to say. The acting is really great, the characters are pretty cool. But man this plot. It's totally crazy. I can't say it's bad, but I highly doubt anything this insane could ever happen for real. I must applaud the main actors/actresses. They did a fantastic job. This drama had me on the edge of my seat waiting for more, especially getting into the later episodes. | Soratobu Kouhoushitsu [空飛ぶ広報室] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I thought this was a very sweet, fun drama. All the characters were loveable and it was easy to connect to them. The acting was good, the casting was good and it was a cute story. I really loved Sorai and Inapyon. <3 | Stand UP!! Rating: 9/10 (Watched) EPIC! I loved it. Absolutely hysterical. All the characters were super funny and the cast was great. |
Starman ~ Kono Hoshi no Koi [スターマン ・ この星の恋] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) I really liked it in the beginning, but it started to fizzle. I feel like the cast worked well together, but there was just something about Hoshio that bothered me. As much as I love Sota, I feel like he was still too young for this role. | Stepfather Step [ステップファザー・ステップ]
| Strawberry on the shortcake [ストロベリー・オンザ・ショートケーキ] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Great story, great cast. Sometimes has you going insane but a very awesome drama. Kubozuka Yosuke is awesome! |
Summer Nude [サマーヌード] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Fun drama and loveable characters. A bit frustrating because of all those awkward moments where you end up screaming "JUST MAKE OUT ALREADY" at the screen. But yeah.
Hikaru is obviously the coolest character in the whole show though. | Summer Rescue [サマーレスキュー] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Great to see dearest Suda Masaki in a drama again, hahaha. Intesting drama. The plot is similar to Dr. Koto's Clinic but not quite as heartwarming in my opinion. I do think they cast this drama very well. Always nice to see Tokito Saburo and Matsushige Yutaka. Of course Mukai Osamu is awesome too!
I must say, the scenery in this drama is incredible too. | Summer snow Rating: 6/10 (Watched) I enjoyed this drama a lot up until the last bit. I really liked the characters themselves. I thought Oguri did a very good job and I very much enjoyed Domoto's Natsuo. He was pretty funny. |
Suna No Utsuwa [砂の器]
| Switch Girl!! [スイッチガール!!]
| Taira no Kiyomori [平清盛] Rating: 4/10 (Watched) The first time I'll be watching a Taiga drama as it airs. I'm worried about how well I'll be understanding the story, but oh well. I'll deal with it.
And now that I've finished it....all I can say is man. I wish I wouldn't have. It's one of the lowest rated Taiga dramas...and there's a very good reason for that. It's horrible. It started off alright but slowly got worse and worse. Of course it has a crazy huge cast of many good actors, but I feel like they could have chosen someone better than MatsuKen to be the lead.
I guess you can say it's "good" from a visual prospective, like many Taiga dramas. The cast members are all good looking. The costumes are wonderful. The makeup is awesome (especially later when they have to age some of the characters). The cinematography is very nice. And not visual, but the score is really good. But then again, this all goes for most recent Taiga......so yeah.
I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone and I kind of wish my first full Taiga would have been something else. I think I'll take a break from Taiga for a while. |
Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta [大切なことはすべて君が教えてくれた] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Interesting drama and kept me freaking out between episodes despite being a genre I'm not a huge fan of.
I really enjoyed the cast, particularly Suda Masaki. He's a wonderful young actor and I was thrilled to finally hear him speaking in kansai-ben. ^__^ | Tenchijin [天地人]
| Tenma san ga Yuku [天魔さんがゆく]
|
The Quiz Show [ザ・クイズショウ]
| The Quiz Show Season 2 [ザ・クイズショウ 2] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) I honestly was rather confused through a fair bit of this drama but it was still entertaining. I really liked Sakurai and Yokoyama working together. It was almost mesmerizing at times. Kinda freaky drama that keeps your heart pumping. | Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I loved this drama!! I learned a bit about rakugo last year and had a couple private lessons for very short stories (kobanashi) so I feel like it was easier to appreciate. It was great seeing more rakugo. Also, this drama has an incredible cast. It was like Kisarazu Cat's Eye and a bit of IWGP. Gotta love Nagase <3 haha |
Tobo Bengoshi [逃亡弁護士] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Really awesome law related drama!! I enjoyed this drama a lot!!!! I think the main cast did a very good job, I especially enjoyed Toyohara! I must admit I didn't understand a lot of the law things going on partially due to a language barrier but I did my best looking up words and terms I didn't understand while watching. Admittedly a lot of the stuff that happened in this drama is fairly unrealistic, I enjoyed it. I feel like I learned a lot of new words if anything, hahaha. | Tokio~Chichi e no Dengon~ [トキオ ~父への伝言〜]
| Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go [特急田中3号] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Interesting drama. Funny look into the lives of some train otaku. Tsukamoto Takashi was hilarious in it and Tanaka Koki was great! It has some flaws but still an entertaining watch!
Oh and hey, I've been in the same train as Tanaka Koki and Kuriyama Chiaki because I used to live in Choshi and ride Choshi Dentetsu a few times a week. |
Tokyo Tower ~Okan to Boku to, tokidoki, Oton [東京タワー2007] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Very, very slow drama. The story is actually pretty good, though Mokomichi's character is so frustrating sometimes. It was a nice story...but I just couldn't deal with how slow it went. I forced myself to finish it in two days just to be done with it. The supporting characters were pretty fun though. I quite liked the three guys from Ma-kun's first apartment building.
Oh and dat Kyushu dialect. Holy crap, lol | Tokyo Wankei [東京湾景]
| TONBI [とんび] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Oh this drama. Ohhhh this drama. Prepare a few boxes of tissues if you're planning on watching. It's a really fantastic story. Yasu is the most insanely awesome father I've seen in a drama for a while now. The entire cast supporting him to raise Akira happen to be some of the best characters I've encountered of my years of watching dramas.
Highly recommended. |
Trick [トリック] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) This drama is hysterical. I really liked the casting and I think Nakama Yukie was great in this. And of course Abe Hiroshi (and his big wiener) were absolutely amazing too.
It's very comical and intriguing to watch. I'm hoping the other seasons are as good....I'll be watching those eventually. | Trick Season 2 [トリック2] Rating: 6/10 (Watched) Sadly not quite as awesome as the first season. I still ended up watching it all in two days though! XD
And of course I still love the crap out of Ueda <3 | Trick Season 3 [トリック3]
|
Tsuhan-Man Rating: 7/10 (Watched) I think it's a pretty funny drama, admittedly pretty ridiculous, but was enjoyable. It was my first time with a number of the actors in it and I think they were pretty good. I very much love Jimmy, hahaha. | Tumbling [タンブリング] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) I really really enjoyed this drama. Sometimes the acting was a bit shoddy from the minor cast members, but I really enjoyed this. Yamamoto Yusuke did a wonderful job as Wataru. I think it was refreshing coming from seeing him in stuff like Kamen Rider Kabuto, Atashinchin no Danshi and Ouran Koukou Host Club. It was nice seeing him away from that "prince" type image. I think he did a good job of being a yankee. I also applaud Daito Shunsuke. I think he was spectacular in this. His character was extremely awesome. Also, who wouldn't like seeing Yusuke taking his shirt off pretty much every episode?! | Umizaru [海猿]
|
Uta no Onii-san [歌のおにいさん] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Really cute drama! Once again Ohno-kun did a fantastic job acting. I really enjoyed all the cute goofy outfits that they had to wear on the TV show. ^___^ | Vampire Heaven [ヴァンパイア・ヘヴン]
On indefinite hold | Water Boys [ウォーターボーイズ] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Great cast, great story and amazingly funny. Not quite as funny as the movie, but I really enjoyed it. I was also very happy to see Sato from the original movie <3 |
Water Boys Season 2 [ウォーターボーイズ2] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Pretty much a clone of Water Boys, but to be honest, I'm okay with that. I really loved Water Boys so it's great seeing more. I'm kind of glad they're not at Tadano anymore. I was also really really really happy that Saotome (from the movie) came back. I really love the whole "girls against boys" throughout the series.
Oh. And I frickin love Ichihara Hayato and Nakao Akiyoshi. Hahaha <3 | Wonderful Life [ワンダフルライフ] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Kirishima-saaaannn~~~ I really enjoyed this drama, some of Sorimachi's best work in my opinion. It's a very fun, sweet drama. If you love baseball this is a must watch! | Yako no Kaidan [夜光の階段] Rating: 4/10 (Watched) I just kept wonder "what the heck is going on?" It was more than just a language barrier...my Japanese is good enough for me to understand 85% of the drama, and I looked up what I needed to...
It felt more like an American soap opera than a J-drama....I just don't even know. ~_~
I pretty much only watched it because one of my favorite actors, Ebisawa Kenji, had a really minor role in it. |
Yamada Taro Monogatari [山田太郎ものがたり] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Really cute drama, I liked the casting. It was a funny, cute and heartwarming show. I could watch this over and over~ Absolutely lovely | Yamada-kun to Nananin no Majo [山田くんと7人の魔女] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) This was one of those silly, insane, cracky dramas that you laugh like an idiot, but really shouldn't be. The idea behind it is interesting, but they had to go making kissing part of the main plot line, giving way to tons of strange crap. I still really loved watching it and I'm jealous of every single person whose lips touched Yamamoto Yusuke's. It's cracktastic but the plot wasn't 100% crap. Some of the acting was a bit shoddy at points though. >.> | Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge [ヤマトナデシコ七変化] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) Based off one of my favorite manga series~ I really really enjoyed this take on it. Obviously they had to age everyone up, but it didn't bother me. I think that Kamenashi did a great job of Kyohei, but honestly, my favorite was Oomasa Aya's Sunako. She did a fantastic job of potraying Sunako. Her acting was perfect! It was a really funny, interesting drama! |
Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru [ヤンキー母校に帰る] Rating: 9/10 (Watched) A wonderful drama! I love it!!! Great casting, I love the story. It's great because it's based off real life. I don't think it's comparable to GTO because of that. I really enjoyed Takenouchi's performance. I quite liked Nagai in this too! | Yasashii Jikan [優しい時間] Rating: 7/10 (Watched) Extremely slow paced but is a good story. It might be difficult to watch for someone really new to J-dramas. The casting was alright but not awesome. The scenery was very nice. | Yoiko no Mikata [よい子の味方] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Such a cute drama! Sakurai reminds me so much of one of my friends, a male kindergarten teacher, here in Japan. I too work at kindergartens sometimes so it reminds me of work (in a good way)
I enjoyed the casting, especially Sakurai. It was nice seeing Endo and Kaneko. And with a side note of in episode 6 when Shu-chan went to help at the preschool all I could think is "Man I'd never want Endo near my kid if I had one. lol" |
Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro [勇者ヨシヒコと魔王の城] Rating: 10/10 (Watched) Absolutely hilarious. I don't even know what to say. I spent most of the drama laughing. It's purposely bad and that's what makes it funny. It's amazing. There are so many famous actors and actresses, so many that makes you think "really, you're willing to be in something this ridiculous?!"
I still can't believe Oguri Shun was in this and my mind is still blown that Yamada Takayuki is the lead character. Ahahahaha!! | Zettai Kareshi [絶対彼氏] Rating: 8/10 (Watched) Great drama. I'm kind of glad they changed some of it up from the manga (a high schooler getting something like that is just too freaky). Mokomichi did a good job of being a robot and it was nice seeing him progressing throughout the drama. Even though I knew what was gonna happen at the end I still cried like a baby =/ | |
